As for America still being the greatest country on Earth, I think we have to do more to keep it that way. I mean its slipping away. China has problems. Dude, all due respect, but woke-ism isn't really much of a problem. It's whipped up into a giant issue by the same media/politicians that have a vested interest in keeping us divided. A few instances of over-the-top behavior by extremists with an agenda gets amplified until it seems like the whole country is being overwhelmed by it. No different than labeling everyone that doesn't support Trump as a Communist SJW and every Trump supporter as a racist moron. It's just not true. I get your concern, watching what I assume (could be wrong, if I am, enlighten me) is predominantly right wing media and living overseas so you're not seeing what it's really like in communities that are not giant coastal cities. I work for an organization that would be called by many extremely 'woke.' All it really means in-house is that you treat everyone with equality and respect, even those that are different physically, mentally, spiritually and ideologically. And that organization is a world leader in its field, widely known and respected, on the cutting edge of research and technology.

I understand how some would feel like it's a form of censorship, and I get it. But I just don't see it that way. It's a matter of changing one's viewpoint to show respect to someone that deserves it and in the past may not have been given that sort of respect. An example would be the way that homosexuals are viewed in our culture and how that has gradually shifted. It's really not that hard of a thing to overcome with an open mind.

While trying to educate them on why this “woke” stuff is going too far with lots of “white girl outrage”, I also have to deal with teaching them why a good portion of their friends are inappropriately racist. It is not a situation where one side is right and one side is wrong. Tons of gray.

That’s weird. Almost all the kids I know via my friends and elsewhere are not racist at all. Kinda woke, but not crazy woke. Maybe they just hide it. Is it run of the mill racist stuff or some sort of resentment?

Ha! Haven’t you been paying attention? Boston is a racist city according to sports players. I don’t know that it is as bad as some say, but it is very much there. Some of it is overt and much is behind the scenes.

I do want to remind everyone of the 2014 Ukraine revolution.

1.  The left wing rose up and removed the right-wing Ukrainian leader from office, charging him with breaking the law.
2.  That leader fled to Russia.
3.  THAT was the moment where, finally, the right wing in Ukraine grabbed their guns, took to the streets, and revolted against the left wing.
4.  Russia then entered the Ukraine with unmarked troops and unmarked vehicles to support it.
5.  Before anyone knew what was happening, large sections of the Ukraine broke away.

I called that a template before, and said the key ingredient was the left removing Trump from office.  Well, here we are with the democrats trying to remove Trump, Russia signalling they will send help to Trump, and the right wing in America on the edge of a nationwide revolt.
