Jessica Krug, the GW University professor who pretended to be Black, has resigned

Recommended Posts

It's so tough to be black in this country that white people are pretending to be black to get a job.

A George Washington University professor who provoked outrage after admitting that she pretended to be Black has quit her job, school officials said Wednesday.

Jessica Krug, a 38-year-old African history professor at GWU, was pulled from teaching duties amid calls for her to step down after she admitted to lying about her race in a Medium blog post on Sept. 3.

Jessica Krug, a 38-year-old African history professor at GWU, was pulled from teaching duties amid calls for her to step down after she admitted to lying about her race in a Medium blog post on Sept. 3.

Krug, who is actually White and Jewish, said she had over the course of her adult life, “assumed identities within a Blackness that I had no right to claim: first North African Blackness, then US rooted Blackness, then Caribbean rooted Bronx Blackness.”

“I am not a culture vulture. I am a culture leech,” she said.

I thought Rachel Dolezol's disguise was more convincing, Jessica Krug should have asked her for advice.

Race is far closer to being a social construct than gender is but don't tell these clowns that.

One black student was interviewed and said about Krug that she was so nice. She was a really good teacher and even helped other students through personal problems and supported everyone. It's too bad to know that was all a lie.

I honestly don't blame these people. It's the schools creating protocols and guidelines on admission without accounting for fraud. Maybe just require some evidence since people do lie with all programs offering free stuff or a leg up on other people.

There is an Indian casino in La that gives free college to Native Americans of the local tribe but it's not that easy to get it. Have to have documentation. I talked to one of them. They said even though they were 20% Native American and could prove it, still not enough. Had to be like 30 or 40%.

I'm not opposed to anyone wanting to be black or join the black group. I think it's great.

Makes sense.  The only place in this nation where being black holds one back is in the minds of stupid people.  In practice, claiming minority status is a leg up in almost every situation

Now more than ever.  But it will go too far. It always does.

How about a black person not claiming they are black and trying to pass as Italian or Latino?

Unless, of course, youre a poor black person whose dangerous neighborhood is now being under-policed.

Here's an idea. Just hire the best person for the job then the color of your skin shouldn't matter.

Seems like there is a difference between wanting to be black and claiming to be black.  And this woman had different black personas depending on her mood I suppose.

But you will have "services" instead of police, and that is so much .....better?🤔

I like to think I’m above average intelligence wise, that being said I hardly understood a word this broad said. Is she saying that the kid deserved it because he was in the explorers and wanted to be a cop?  What a awful human if so.

Christ, what a joke. I'd be pissed if I was paying tuition to support those offices.

People are so proud to be poosays these days. Everyone has to be a victim all the time.

George Washington University. She had no issue taking a check from a place that is a tribute to a slave owner. None of the black colleges would have her. Only the SJW idiots at GWU could be convinced she was black. You have to want to be that stupid.

Forgive me for not being familiar with the story or having seen her or heard her and for skimming and not actually reading.

The reason it was easy for her to be black is because she was faking it and didn’t have to deal with the real life experiences of being black. She doesn’t look stereotypically black. She has no black parents or grandparents.

She understands fully what it means to be white: how to navigate and fit in. So, yes, she can put on the black hat without suffering the true consequences of being black. It’s one thing to say you’re  black but quite another to actually be black.

It’s kind of like sitting in a wheel chair and pretending to be paralyzed but not really being paralyzed or dealt with the incident that put you there.

Your mindset and people that think like that enslave themselves much more than the "system".

What are the true consequences of being black?

Come on. Let's not pretend that blacks don't have a rougher ride. They do. The discussion is why. When slaves were freed, the country as a whole was dirt poor, so their footing at that time was not much below the average white person. By the 50s black people had a strong family structure, marriage rates almost identical to whites, jobs, neighborhoods. Then came desegregation and all of it screeched to a halt. So really it's nothing about the 1860s and everything about the 1960s.

It is 2020.  America has progressed a ton on this issue.  The 2 highest paid NFL players are black QBs.  25 years ago there weren't many black QBs in the NFL period.  Blacks hold major governmental positions in big cities across the country.  TV and music is filled with black people.

Jimmy Butler the best player for MIA just knocked off the 1 seed Bucks.  He was fatherless.  His mother kicked him out of the house at 13. Had no D1 scholarship offers so went JUCO.  He faxed letter of intent from a Mcdonalds to Marquette.  Now he is one of the best players in the league and one of the highest paid.

Only in America can a poor black man with a broken home go on to be a millionaire many times over.  Amazing what not making excuses, not expecting a handout, and working hard can do for anyone of any color.

He could have said woh is me and gave up to go sell drugs as a teenager.  He didnt and worked hard.

Who is pretending?  Quit living in the past is my point and take advantage of what people of the civil rights fought for.  America has progressed rapidly in the last 20 to 30 years with this issue.  The black woh is me crowd has not.

They've had a black president.  Yet they claim we are going backwards.

Half of the murders in large cities go unsolved. Thousands of them. But there is more mileage and it’s so easy to point a finger at the street cop. Solving the crimes is hard and ends up with bad guys getting locked up. Who wants that? You can portray black men as victims and keep getting the black vote. So much easier.

That is curious.  She pretends to be black...in spite of all the "benefits" if being white.....   you seem to acknowledge, in some small way, that there are positives to being black.  I think that is a good thing to accept and acknowledge.  Then you seem to also want to suggest that there are benefits to being white.

I wonder if you realize how the logic fails here.

The truth behind all of this is that there is advantages to being a good person, a hard working individual with morals and perseverance.  Delayed gratification has been previously aligned to "whiteness" and I think there is some truth to that, but that is a little racist too.

I can only hope that this nonsense of the "black experience" vs the "white experience" can relent and eventually people understand that its simply about being a good person.

Are you saying they were fortunate to have been brought to America, freed, and now have many opportunities and programs designed to narrow the gap between races?
