Some people will get useless degrees, sure, but I think most people want to have a career that actually makes them money. Saying that we shouldn't make education more affordable because some people will waste it is a weak argument. I am not for making college completely free either since I believe that people better appreciate what they pay for/work hard for. I just want a system where the debt after college isn't crushing.

Your last sentence is correct, its been that way forever though.

My current problem is two fold:

1.  The left has moved hard left.  Green New Deal.  Free College.  Defund the Police.  Look away when cities are looted and burned.  Late term (even after birth) abortions.  There is no such thing as gender (science!@#!).  It's maddening, even for old school Blue Dog Democrats.

2.  The media has been exposed.  I know Fake News!@#! turns people off, but my Gah, when you see it first hand over and over again it drives one crazy.  

I long for the days when people argued about how to fix Social Security, tax policies, or if "assault weapons" should be legal.

This is an election thread. Not a historical thread. This is about violence having to do with the current political climate and the election. You don’t see me bringing up the looting and rioting from the Rodney King verdict, do you? So spare me the lecture.

100% agree.  However just paying off a certain group of peoples student loans does not tackle that issue.  Four year college tuition has been outpacing inflation for two decades now.  The real root cause solution needs to address that, opposed to just throwing money at it.

Again, this is the election thread.  And comparing mass shootings to organized political violence by hundreds of people compared to some lone wolf losers is just silly. Let me know when a conservative explains away the reasoning for a mass shooting like the left does for looting and rioting. Let me know when conservatives post bail for a mass shooter.

So a protest defends into violence and destruction, cops getting bricked and spat at and pushed and shoved, and the cops start grabbing the people peacefully protesting. Yeah, that’s not how it works.  Sure some innocents can get caught up,  but they are quickly released most of the time. Those being held are getting criminal charges. Now if some left wing DA refuses to prosecute that doesn’t mean the crime didn’t occur. Even with liberals all over these DA offices, they still bring charges against some, and celebtards and left wing political hacks bail them out.

The only way to make college more affordable is to get the government out of the loan business, cut the admin in half and reduce the ridiculous salaries college professors make for their do nothing jobs. Also, get rid of the insane pensions and move to a 401k. Having taxpayer funded higher Ed is like giving my kids a key to the candy store. And, before any of you progressive dinks try to refute these points, any retard can go look up the Umass salaries and pensions on the Boston Herald website.

Student loans should only be for trade schools. If you aren’t smart enough to get a scholarship to a 4 yr school or can’t afford it goto juco and you can get a two year loan after that. 58% of college students never graduate.  Of those that do graduate 50% fail to get a job in their first year due to crappy majors.  Meanwhile 100% of trade school graduates get jobs within 3 months
