I live in GA and it sure feels like it is moving blue.  All the people trying to get out of NY and Cal keep moving to Atlanta.  The Governor won a squeeker in back in 2018 by 1% over Abrams who everyone expects to win next time because of all the migration from blue states.   Pretty depressing.

Remember the black vote is shifting from a democrat bloc to a swing vote this decade.  That's going to prevent Georgia from ever going blue.  Might be purple for a bit but its red long term.  Also remember the latino vote is shifting red as well.  You can't be like CNN and only look at one side of the coin.  5 years ago, the idea of Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania voting red was laughed at.

you know the british isles were invaded like 5-6 times over 2000 years.  the earliest inhabitants were the britons.  the romans came in and conquered them and built london.  then the romans left.  they hired german tribes to protect them from vikings.  the germans decided they liked the place and invaded with their women and children.  they were angles and saxons.  they pushed the britons westward.  the angle name for foriegner was "welsh".  the britons established a land called wales in the west and became known as welsh.  the norse invaded but got driven back but it made england weak.  then in 1066 the place got conquered by a french duke from normandy.  his group almost completely obliterated the culture but it bounced back.  then there were several invasion attempts after that which failed including the nazis.  now it seems increasing waves of african and arab refugees are swarming them.

the point is...it never ends.

I really hope that you are right but the Dems are pulling out all the stops.  If the filibuster goes I do not see a recovery for GOP for a long time.  The Dems will do all the things we tried to warn people they would do before the last election.  Politically I am pretty much a "Glass is mostly empty" type person right now. :(

My plan has been to make as much and bank as much as I can without  sacrificing my standard of living because we all may need to retire somewhere else..

Why are the lines so long? I can’t find an honest answer to this other than it’s racist voter suppression which is ironic since the voting districts with the issues are controlled by Democrats.

Actually, the districts are set by the state legislature. They put more polling places in rural areas than in urban areas. They could increase polling places in the urban areas but intentionally choose not to. In Arizona for example, they dropped the polling places in Maricopa county from over 200 to only 60… funny, that county generally voted Democrat.  This is to force people that live in urban areas to wait in line to vote.

In Georgia, the number of registered voters increased by 2 million in the last 8 years, but the state cut the number of polling places by 10%… The metro Atlanta area has been hit particularly hard. The nine counties — Fulton, Gwinnett, Forsyth, DeKalb, Cobb, Hall, Cherokee, Henry and Clayton — have nearly half of the state's active voters but only 38% of the polling places. This, again, is done by the GOP-led state legislature.

Adding the voting ID requirement usually doesn’t prevent the non-ID holder from voting. They can cast a provisional ballot or try to find another form of ID. The real effect of the ID requirement is the slowing down of the line. If you’re in a poorer neighborhood, it’s more likely that somebody will not have an ID. So it’s like being at the bank and somebody decides to dump a bucket of pennies on the teller’s counter. Everybody behind them is gonna be there for a while.

Add these factors together and you get a certain percentage of people who just can’t wait in line long enough to vote. Maybe they have to get back to work, or pick up their kids from school, or whatever. So they end up not being able to vote.

These laws are designed to do one thing: make it harder for people who generally vote for Democrats to cast a ballot. There’s no question about this whatsoever. The Sunday voting thing is just further proof of that. Are votes cast on a Sunday more fraudulent than votes cast on other days? Of course not. It’s simply a popular day for people that typically pick Democrats to vote.

I think we should have national standards. Enough with some states all changing their election laws every time they don’t like the outcome of the latest one. Every single citizen 18 and older should have equal access at the polls. Having no lines in a white neighborhood and 5-hour lines in a black neighborhood is NOT equal, and it is clearly and obviously intentional. The “no food or water allowed in line” is just the final kick in the nuts. Screw these guys. How about doing something that people like so they will vote for you instead of trying to keep them from voting?

It’s so easy to vote in this country, everywhere, for everyone. Voter suppression is made up by the left so they can mask their methods of cheating. Any fool can see that.

“The PGA Tour and Masters Tournament have both made commitments to help diversify golf and address racial inequities in this country – and we expect them to not only speak out against Georgia’s new racist voter suppression law – but to also take action,” the National Black Justice Coalition said in a statement. “To that end, the National Black Justice Coalition is calling on the PGA Tour and Masters Tournament to pull the upcoming championship event from the Augusta National Golf Course. Professional golfers should refuse to play in Georgia until the racist voter suppression law is repealed.”

It's not the President repeatedly and without any proof that the election was stolen and saying the courts should just appoint him the winner from that makes us a banana republic?

Yeah.  The last guy only got 74 million votes and the republicans took seats in the house. You have to want to be this stupid.

This doesn't make any sense.  Repubs lost, and Repubs signed this new law for a fair election, an dems are whining.

this is a funny one.  lose the Presidency, lose the Senate, pick up seats in the house, but still minority.  We Won!  No, you lost.

yes, they lost, and now would like less people to vote, so they might win.

The point is they got more votes last time than they did the time before, even with the other side cheating or changing the rules in the middle of the game.

Will be interesting to see how it goes next time when people have to show up to the polls and prove who they are.

All things Democrats are fighting against, anybody who has an ounce of common sense knows why.

Well, according to these rubes Trump actually won except for the fraud. Literally millions of fraudulent votes and no legitimate evidence.

Sure will be. It’s lose -lose for them though. They win? No more claims of voter suppression nonsense. They lose? They lose.

The only thing that we can take from this election is that there appears to be about 80 million low IQ losers like MDC and unfortunately they are breeding uncontrolled. Stopping them from voting is a great way to save the country.

You can enjoy and celebrate this country going to hell all you want, but you still have to wake up in philthadelphia, tending to your barnyard, and simply having to be you every day.

It's wonderful not being you.

In a scenario where every single person votes in the election, the republicans could still win but they would need to support abortion rights.  There's simply too many women that will vote democrat on that issue alone.  The GOP would need to take that issue away.

Either you choose not to see, or don't accept issues that have been presented.  See ACLU oppose voter ID legislation fact sheet.  As a line there says, Voter ID laws deprive many voters of their right to vote.  If this could be addressed, by getting people currently without IDs an ID that isn't a hurdle like the ones presented in that page, I would back it.  As it also says on that page, in person fraud is quite rare.

If it's rare then there should be be a problem with needing an id.

If a person doesn't have an ID they have much MUCH bigger problems than being able to vote.

I'm sure there are outliers to every rule but there can't be more than a hand full of people out there who want to vote and don't have an id for some strange reason AND can't use any of the other means available AND can't figure it out in time in order to vote.

This should be a 100% common sense issue. Democrats fighting this tells me there is way more fraud than anyone let's in.
