New York Giants have publicly stated their interview with Flores was not a "sham", but they didn't hire him because he was too uppity.

there is a difference in tanking and being paid to throw a game. as soon as you bring in the notion that an owner is paying an employee to lose, the integrity of the game is now in question. Yes, you could argue, any form of tanking ruins the integrity but at least if its a decision made jointly with no pay offs, then you can discuss how its a decision by the franchise for its long term success (i.e getting a franchise QB in the draft)..... basically a 76ers of the NFL. There is no difference if you aren't gambling your money in casinos for profit on the result of that game. It's not a crime to pay terrible people on your team to play in games.

Spagnola was the HC in STL for 3 years before being with the Giants.  Shurmur was the HC in Cleveland for 2 years.  That said, the 5 years they had as HC's, none finished with a winning record.

Spags was the NYG DC for the first SB, then he went to STL as HC, then came back as DC only to be interim HC after they fired Macafag.
