If only talking in the US. This is the #1 one hit wonder. Although I think they were popular in Norway.

And the video was groundbreaking. Steve Barron's innovative music video featuring the band in a live-action pencil-sketch animation sequence. The video won six awards and was nominated for two others at the 1986 MTV Video Music Awards.

Not sure covers should count, but yeah, they were the only group to make it a hit song.

I could probably think of a bunch of bands/songs that "I" consider one-hit wonders but they're not thought of that way.  I say "I" because I think the band isn't good and all of their other "hits" are terrible, except for 1 song.

For example, "Epic" by Faith No More.  Every other song I've heard from them is absolutely terrible... except for Epic which is really good.  Another one is, I'm ready to get killed for this one, but that's ok... "Saint's of Los Angeles" by Mötley Crüe.  Awesome song, but every other song they have is dreadful... yes, even "Girls, Girls, Girls".  Why that song is popular, I'll never understand.  But as mentioned in the past, I don't really listen to music.  I'm just not interested in it, so I'm certainly not claiming to be an authority on the subject.

But, one song that I think actually falls into this category would be "More than Words Can Say" by Alias.

One of the more misinterpreted songs of all time, word was that "Turning Japanese" refers to the Asian facial features people get at the moment of climax during masturbation. In a VH1 True Spin special, they asked The Vapors about this song, and they explained that it is a love song about someone who lost their girlfriend and was going slowly crazy. Lead singer Dave Fenton said: "Turning Japanese is all the clichés about angst and youth and turning into something you didn't expect to." It was inspired by Fenton's relationship problems.

I hate virtually every Mötley Crüe song, and you think I'd have liked other Faith No More songs?
