Biden to nominate Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to Supreme Court

Recommended Posts

Biden is once again using black people for cover. He has nothing positive to say at the state of the union so he announced this. Enjoy watching. I’ll sit this one out.

Perhaps.  But is she qualified?

She will be under scrutiny for her string of rulings that were overturned by higher courts. Let's see how that plays out.

But I know right now, that the liberals will be glad to call out "racist" or "misogynist" for anyone who votes against her if she is not confirmed. Even though she was nominated because of her race and gender.

It's a losing strategy for the conservatives to constantly be on the defensive. Accused of every kind of crime and sit and take it. It's not right to mimic the left's tactics, but it is right to be on the offensive every now and then.

No need to make up lies that she raped a little kid while in college, but attack hard the hypocrisy and attack the facts of her rulings and motivations in her past.

Thought she was just a run of the mill, silly 2022 liberal like Rusty or Mooney. Nope, Biden managed to find a real sicko to nominate. Confirmation hearings start Monday. Let’s hope some Senators tear her to pieces. I’d like to see her lose it and freak out when she is exposed.

Whoever Biden was going to appoint it will be better than trump's roundmouth henchmen that he chose-make something else up. This world will end (you ever read the Bible?) in our time, and it's trumps fault, he created SO much hate in the world and the chain reaction is stunning. Somebody needs to put him down, him and putin.

I don't know anything about her. Hopefully she's more like Kagan, Breyer, and Rotting Corpseburg in that she pays lip service to the Constitution, as opposed to Potatomayor who uses her copy to line her bird cage.

Brown has pushed the 1619 crap and stands for all this crap.

Hannah-Jones' 1619 Project at The New York Times Magazine is an ongoing initiative seeking to "reframe the country’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of our national narrative." Hannah-Jones won a Pulitzer Prize for commentary last year for the project and was named to TIME's list of the "100 most influential people."

Historians have flagged the project for incorrect statements and interpretations. Five academic historians signed a letter claiming the 1619 Project got several elements of history wrong, including a claim that the Revolutionary War was fought to preserve slavery. The Times has defended the project.

Your link makes no mention about Brown specifically supporting the bullsh*t 1619 project, but support is rife on the left, so it would be no shock. If true, and your link doesn't tie her to it, that should automatically disqualify her (but it won't because Democrats won't/don't challenge their far left on the topic.)

I heard about that but I don't have much to add since it makes me nauseous to stare too deeply into the void. She's a foregone conclusion.

I'm braced for another Potatomayor-type, affirmative action fool. But if she's only at the noxious level of Breyer, Kagan, Rotting Corpseburg, that's an upgrade.

It’s Fockin disgusting. One pedophile was to be sentenced to 10 years as per the sentencing guidelines. She gave him 3 months. She doesn’t think sex offenders, including pedophiles, should have to register as sex offenders. She’s crazy amd dangerous left, not annoying left.

I would like to read more about this, to ensure her positions are not being mis characterized.

I am confused just a little.  As we have been told it is white men who are the problem as it pertains to sex crimes, so what is she so supportive of white men :dunno:

Yeah. It's actually concerning how far they have fallen down those holes. The minds of the left were so seriously damaged by Trump's mean tweets and his calling out the media that they broke. Literally. And to them, racism has been the hot thing since hussein obama was in office, and they will try to keep it going for as long as they possibly can.

It's getting so old now but the fools in this country keep playing into the narrative. I wouldn't doubt that in 300 years from now there will be liberals screaming "TRUMP" in their sleep.

My God, I hope Trump runs in 2024 and wins. I'll just sit back and watch rachel maddow cry on tv and enjoy my gin and tonic all the more.

Sen. Chuck Grassley is calling for records related to Judge Kentanji Brown Jackson’s time on the U.S. Sentencing Commission ahead of her Supreme Court confirmation hearing next week, amid Republican claims she was overly lenient to child pornographers -- a charge that the White House is branding a "debunked" and "desperate" conspiracy theory.

Grassley said the records from the Sentencing Commission were being withheld and said that a full review could not properly be conducted without them.

"Unfortunately, somebody somewhere doesn’t want us to see that information. How can this be a thorough review if this information is withheld?" Grassley said. "And why aren’t Democrats interested in allowing the committee to have this information to conduct a thorough review?"

Grassley’s call comes after Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., this week used a lengthy Twitter thread to accuse Jackson, who President Biden nominated to fill the seat of outgoing Justice Stephen Breyer, of "a pattern of letting child porn offenders off the hook for their appalling crimes, both as a judge and as a policymaker."

Hawley laid out evidence for what he said was a consistent theme of Jackson both calling for more lenient treatment of some sex offenders and deviating from federal sentencing guidelines in favor of child sex offenders.

In particular he said that, when serving on the U.S. Sentencing Commission, Jackson "advocated for drastic change" in a report on mandatory minimums for those engaged in child pornography.

They are withholding the records because they are rushing this through. But there is no need to rush it. Breyer doesn’t even step down until June.  They are taking advantage of the avalanche of issues that are currently going on so republicans like Mitt Romney can just confirm her and they won’t be called racist. She’s an activist jurist and her pet project is going lenient on child pornographers. If someone gets in front of federal judge on child pornography charges  they aren’t your run of the mill case. They are serious offenders, and she more often than not goes easy on them.

Can’t wait to hear the left calling everyone a racist who has concerns about child porn. I wasn’t aware it was just a white thing. I guess children of color don’t need to be protected from it too.

Seems like the typical democrat thing to do: have sex with children but when you’re caught they already will have a judge in place to dismiss the charges.

Also, it’s extremely alarming that the democrats are withholding important documents needed for the investigating into her. All the while they dismiss this and say they “debunked” it. So we just have their word to go on and, let’s face it, their word isn’t even worth the he dog Sh1t on the bottom of someone’s shoe.

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson has a Constitutional problem, which should concern everyone who cares about the kind of power a judge can seize with the stroke of a pen.

Case in point: On the issue of abortion, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson helped defend what isn’t in the Constitution -- barbaric late-term partial birth abortion. And she ignored what is in the Constitution -- free speech rights for pro-life Americans.

...

The Bill of Rights also permits peaceful assembly of pro-life Americans outside of abortion vendors that seemed to offend Judge Jackson.

In 2001, she worked as an attorney filing an amicus brief (friend of the court argument) in McGuire v. Reilly on behalf of strident abortion supporters like the Abortion Access Project of Massachusetts and NARAL Pro-Choice America who wanted a "buffer zone" around abortion vendors to prevent peaceful, pro-life speech.

At issue was whether one point of view – a pro-life message of love for both mother and preborn child – could be blocked. Speech in favor of abortion, or even in favor of getting a hamburger at any nearby restaurant, was acceptable, which is the heart of viewpoint discrimination. Fighting against this kind of discrimination has taken Students for Life to court often, including filing an amicus brief in another buffer zone case Price v. City of Chicago.

"Suffice it to say," Scalia said about a similar case, "that if protecting people from unwelcome communications (the governmental interest the Court posits) is a compelling state interest, the First Amendment is a dead letter."

While Judge Jackson seems able to overlook clearly stated free speech rights for all, she has shown no reluctance to justify the most radical of all abortion procedures, though "abortion" is never mentioned in our Constitution.

While clerking for Justice Breyer, Judge Brown helped defend barbaric Partial Birth Abortions in Stenberg v. Carhart. In that case, infamous abortionist LeRoy Carhart tried to hide behind the Constitution to block a Nebraska law banning the cruel death.

Kentanji Jackson was found an hour later staring at two doors with strange misshapen stick figures on them. "I'm not an Egyptologist," she said. "I can't interpret the meaning of these symbols."

The hearing started shortly thereafter once Jackson realized she could use the room with the triangle person.
