My polling place is a block from my home. I voted before work. In and out in 5 minutes. Just like with your moms.

Feds tried to send in election monitors and Florida told them to pound sand.  😂

Did you wipe your cack off on the voting curtain when finished?

What is the negative with having more oversight though? :dunno:

2 things:

1.) This highlights the whole "nationwide" vs "state's rights" stuff with elections

2.) It makes it clear that "election integrity" is only wanted if it applies one way for some people.

What's funny is that both republicans and democrats are complaining about the other cheating right now.  Bunch of freaking morons.

There’s no cheating?

I have no idea but it's gotten to the point that no matter what happens, the losing side will claim the other side cheated.

The part Biden would send to Florida, for sure.

Refusing federal monitors has nothing to do with integrity.

These are local and state elections. What does the federal government's interest in any of this? 🤔

This topic is rather interesting to me, I think I will read about it some...

If you have no idea then it’s silly to ignore anyones claims. Perhaps silence is the best option?

Sure....it's at the very least suspicious considering they sent monitors to 24 states and have done this for decades throughout multiple elections.

Amazing how integrity only matters to you in one direction

The consent decree in place for over thirty years, that limited the RNC from participating in election monitoring was ended in 2018.

What proof do you have that there is a question of integrity?  According to Florida, none of the counties where the Feds sent monitors is under any scrutiny or consent decree with the Feds.  In addition, Florida law defines who is allowed to observe the election and the feds are not on that list.  So, absent some proof that there is a question about the integrity of the election, why would Florida let ANY their party entity in?  And if the Feds wanted to be involved maybe they shouldn't have waited until the last minute.

That's the longest line I can recall seeing at my polling location.   I left and will come back later.

Again- it's pretty clear "election integrity" matters to you greatly....to a point.

If you’re not for voter ID, your goal is not to have a secure election. Your goal is to make it easy to cheat.

What if you're okay with voter ID and letting federal election monitors in?

What if you are okay with one but not the other?

Once again you have nothing to add so you evade.

Actually I added quite a bit.  And you didn't address a single point I brought up.  I posted the following:

So, a good response would have provided some proof as to a question of integrity in the counties the fed was sending monitors to, addressed the FACT that Florida law does not allow for federal monitors,  and addressed the FACT that those counties have not been alleged to have a voter integrity issue.  You addressed none of those points and instead just resorted to a left wing talking point.  If you want to have an intelligent discussion, you have to be willing to address the other sides points, as I did in the post I just quoted, and not just keep spewing talking points and insulting the other party.  You're a major reason this board has gone downhill.  10 aliases later and you're still trying to destroy it.  Good job.

Voted. I hate that they changed our voting method.  We used to have the machines with the curtain, you press the buttons, and then click the submit button and you were done.  The past 2 times we've had paper and sharpie.  Seems like a giant leap back.

Last year, you filled out the paper, handed it to the guy, he looked to see how you voted, then fed it into a machine.  People complained about this, so this year you filled out the paper, you put it into a privacy thing, then walked over to the box and dropped it in, so not even recorded the vote.  Just doesn't feel right.  I miss the booths.

Anyway, Republican down the line.

"Left wing talking points"...worrying about election integrity is "left wing" now? Wow!

I said- federal monitors were sent to 24 states. They are there just to make sure everything is going well. I doubt they specifically go to targeted areas, and I'm sure they were in PA, Michigan Wisconsin, etc to make sure things are running smooth.

I have one name here and always have. You are why this board has gone downhill because everything has to be an attack and claiming people are left wing ideologues who don't care about election integrity when you are proving yourself you don't.

I don’t care who monitors. As long as everyone gets to monitor. But that’s not my point. My point is that those against voter ID do not want voting integrity. It’s impossible to believe that is a goal without ID.

I find it interesting that my sense of nostalgia makes me a snowflake in your eyes.  Of course being wholly unaware of you previous to your post the reflection of me through your eyes is of limited import to me.
