it does.  Nolan is money in the bank.

Agreed. Even his marginal movies are still great and his best is top notch.

Love his movies and Cillian Murphy.  Hopefully I won't need subtitles to follow the dialog like in Tenet though.

Great topic great director. Can’t wait.

About 30 years ago there was another film on the same subject matter: Fat Man And Little Boy. I can’t remember much about it except that it starred Paul Newman as Leslie Groves. But I remember enjoying it.

Tenet wasn't great but, I'll give him a pass on that based on how much really good work he's done in the past.

Looking forward to it.

Seafoam has few pleasures in life except posting nonsense in here and oddly macrame!

He’s probably mad because he’s guessing the film makes Oppenheimer , a life long socialist who had an affair with a Communist, a heroic figure? But he was.

In 1946, Time Magazine published Einstein's face on the cover with a mushroom cloud in the background. Einstein was not very happy about it.

When constantly asked about his role in the bomb, Einstein said "I do not consider myself the father of the release of atomic energy. My part in it was quite indirect." Einstein always said he only wrote Roosevelt advising the U.S. research atomic weapons before the Germans. He later said "had I known the Germans wouldn't succeed in developing an atomic bomb, I wouldn't have lifted a finger."

As expected reviews are overwhelming positive. Cool tidbit: movie was made with no CGI

Runtime of 3 hours so careful with the drink intake!!

That's funny. What movie is that?

I’m not actually super interested in this one but I’ll still catch it because Nolan made it. Outside of the Batman movies (I can’t stand superhero movies) he can do no wrong imo

Oppenheimer was an excellent movie.

Another thing that was excellent is Florence Pugh's t1ttays.  They're not big but she sure seems to enjoy showing them off.  Probably the only reason the movie was rated R.

Going the Sunday after Sunday so 9 days from now. I haven't been to the theatre to see a movie since The Last Jedi. Looking forward to it.

just read American Prometheus, the triumph & tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer.  His intelligence is off the charts.   Quantum Physics?

not even being close to my realm of understanding.

surprisingly Einstein had nothing to do with the development of the gadget(that is the term used when they were building it for security reasons).

Saw it yesterday, agree it was excellent.  For being 3 hours, it did a great job of keeping the pace moving, changing between timeframes/scenes every few minutes to build tension.

Also agreed that while they weren't perfect, that actress sure seemed to enjoy showing off those funbags.  The nudity seemed a bit gratuitous, but none of the guys in the audience were complaining.

100% gratuitous.  Showing boobage during a sex scene is one thing.  Continuing to sit around with t1ts out while calmly discussing communism was definitely not needed.  Much appreciated though.

Edit: also looked like Nolan kept the thermostat turned down on the set during those scenes.  TURKEY'S DONE!

Very good flick, saw it this afternoon. Nolan rarely disappoints. Murphy was great like always but was also very impressed with RDJ’s performance.

Good for Florence Pugh. Kind of a squat little thing by Hollywood standards, but she ain’t gonna let it stop her

Took me several seconds before I recognized RDJ.  Agreed he did a great job.

This is the only movie I saw in the theatre this year.

Oppenheimer just won it's 7th Oscar and the Oscar for Best Picture.
