Jason Aldean’s "Try That In A Small Town" Censored And Accused Of ‘Pro-Lynching' Themes

Yea that counts.  But what is your point?

It was just to get a reaction.  I would think none of use would want to see something like that happen in their town yet many of you downplayed the real thing happening.  I know I would be pissed if anyone did that in my town.

Yeah that's a good point.  My initial instinct would be to tell people to run or get down.

It's not a good look for him to just nope off stage

Now you're a tough guy???

You wouldn't know what the F to do!!! When's the last time you were shot at or in a firefight?

You haven't seen fear until live rounds are coming at you.

These are examples of the news picking up the story after it was pulled by CMT.

Any actual news articles (not just tweets) about the song or video prior to CMT pulling it?

Perhaps I am not clear as to what it is you are asking/ Can you elaborate?

Yes no one was ever murdered or robbed in a small town.

The song is just this Pollyanna view of the world wrapped in poor musical production and Aldean's lazy bored singing.

For sure.  Small towns certainly aren't problem free, but they're less tolerant of the bullshiat people get away with in big cities, IMO.

The articles you posted were news about the outcry from the “anti-woke mob” AFTER the video was “cancelled” (AKA taken off of CMT).  But I don’t believe there was much outcry from the “woke mob” causing it to be cancelled in the first place - I am asking if there were MSM articles about the complaints prior to the video being taken off CMT.

Not a big country music fan, so I have watched this video 3 times and still trying to figure out what the issue it.

I just listened to john by Lil Wayne yesterday and that is way more violent explicit.  Love that sogn though.

It’s the video, not the song that seems to be driving the complaints for the most part.  The main complaint seems to be filming in front of a courthouse that was notorious for lynching.  The main reply to this has been it apparently was also in Hannah Montana

  Touche.    Sometimes context does matter a little bit.

But at the end of the day nowhere near the worst thing i've seen in a music video.

He probably would've killed more people than the shooter by doing that.  Can you imagine how many would've be injured and killed by getting trampled?

Yes, say nothing to those in the audience to take cover because there is a sniper shooting at them. Think of all the lives he saved by doing that even though they were the proverbial "sitting ducks"

Spoken like a true coward from the safety of his keyboard and monitor.

Unless I'm wrong. Did you serve in the armed forces? Have you been to a combat zone? Maybe work as a policeman in one of your big cities?  note: playing call of duty doesn't count.

Please, tell us what one should do when under fire since you know so much and have so much experience with it?

How about the most comparable building in town.  City Hall, courthouse or something like that?  Something that represents the people and the town.

I’m a little surprised you’re still using the word riot after everything that’s come out, but what about the burning of the federal courthouse in Portland by antifa in March of 2021? That gets a pass? Is Portland too big or too small to count?

Hannah Montana filmed in front of that very same courthouse. Fact

I guess they're pro-lynching.

Yes- which goes exactly to what I've said a number of times here. Hannah Montana the Movie came out like 15 years ago (I think- and I'm not looking). Since then the world has changed because people are far more goofy about "sensitive" things and people have figured out how to monetize outrage.

Imagined being triggered over a courthouse? White people nonetheless! It's unreal

It is just hilarious at this point how the left runs to racism so easily.  Video has plenty of white people rioting/protesting.  It is widely known and understood that the lefts Antifa is largely spoiled white young people who probably identify as letter people in some fashion.

The left sees a cowboy hat and its "rascim" !

The left is obsessed with race.

But what really cracks me up is that its WHITE PEOPLE who are outraged it's so phony.

It's selective triggering.

Is this some kind of deflection?  No, that does not get a pass.  Why would it?  I wasn't on here calling Portland a selfie fest was I?  That was part of my point.  No one should want to see anything similar to those events in their town.  Why does one get a pass and not the other?

I understand now.  I think we have to keep in mind that a chorus is not required for cancellation.  Further, there is video (already posted) showing numerous propogandists across media calling it out.  It does not take much to compel cancellation.  Fear and intimidation result in quick capitulation.

Just imagine, if you will, what it might be like if every time someone supported something you like.....people were able to silence it......I doubt you would find it palatable.

Not sure. You complained when someone didn’t respond and now you come across as upset when I did respond. Why even bring up 1/6 in the first place? That was the deflection.

Prominent Nashville-based director Shaun Silva who directed Aldean's "Try That in a Small Town" in a statement, says the location is a "popular filming location outside of Nashville."

The statement cites a recent Lifetime Original movie titled Steppin' Into the Holiday that starred Mario Lopez and Jana Kramer as another production that used the same location, as well as Runaway June's "We Were Rich" video, a Paramount Network film titled A Nashville Country Christmas with Tanya Tucker and the Hannah Montana film, the setting has been used many times.

"Any alternative narrative suggesting the music video’s location decision is false," the company states. Tacklebox also says Aldean "did not pick the location." "Jason Aldean did not pick this location for his video, the production company decides where to film."

I think you completely missed the context of that post.  That's not what I was talking about.

I brought up 1/6 because it gets brushed off as a nothingburger here.  Most of you downplay what happened and call it a selfie fest.  I was curious how many of you would feel the same if something similar happened in your town or neighborhood like the song says.  I have a feeling most would not like it.  I know I wouldn't.

Leftoids not only excuse violence, but get upset when people who complain about it. They are utterly vile and loathsome scum.

Coincidentally - he just played at Country Thunder in my small home town of Twin Lakes Wisconsin, last weekend.

Someone siphoned about 80 gallons of gas from a friends RV, but I don't think he was involved.

My brother use to go to Country Thunder every year when he was in college.  Sounded like a ton of fun.

Unfortunately we probably will find out. George Soros is probably already plotting to create violent protests in small towns all over the rural midwest and south.

Its almost as though people are looking for things to be upset about because it gets attention and clicks.   Attention and clicks for riling people up too, but that's riskier.
