What is Really Wrong with our Government

Recommended Posts

Too much to list.

Explain to me how Obummer was able to allow the NWS of fannie mae and freddie mac RIGHT before the companies turned record profits (no insider info, right?). They have been in government "conservatorship" for well over a decade now. 100% of their profits were being swept to the US TREASURY  and not allowed to count toward any bailout repayment. Other companies who received bailouts during the financial crisis such as AIG, Ford, etc were allowed to repay that money and go about business as usual. Trump and Calabria took a few steps in the right direction to getting them released but didn't do nearly enough before their time was up. ... Shareholders have had many lawsuits and the Supreme Court always sides with the criminals. Not surprisingly. During court cases, executive priv was used to keep documents sealed. documents that likely showed knowledge of impending profits from the companies and conversations about profit taking.

This has always stuck with me since I started learning about it. The fact that multiple branches of our government can be so blatantly crooked and it barely gets any media attention

Yes, I do have investment interest in the matter, but it's small with little downside. I can't even fathom being an older investor with lots of IRA money invested in those companies prior to all of this happening. Government sponsored entities that they thought were safe investments in our country.

Any faith in man is vain faith, all Faith in God is righteous and true, let’s stop pretending why this country, this world is so corrupted, the removal of Praising God.

Any community will benefit from a "unifying vision"

In previous times, with a lot of resource scarcity and a lack of practical health care and medicine, that was basic survival. Communities rallied together because if they didn't, they would perish.

War is another very tragic unifying factor. Look at the United States domestically during WW2. Kids would pick up pieces of string and scraps of metal on the ground and turn them in to support the war effort. Women, who had not typically worked before in masses, would work assembly lines to make weapons and equipment for the fighting men overseas.

And, of course, organized religion. Churches were often the only social "pillar" in any community. A place where charity and goodwill were accepted, without the brutality of the rest of the outside world to take hold.

I've observed it all my life. Children who go to Sunday School on a regular basis, many of them, not all but more than the average, have a far better ethics base than those without.

What is sad is that many people cross over organized religion dogmatically with God, and it's not the same thing. Many churches and many religious organizations are corrupt. And if there is a Satan, then that is likely part of his larger plan, to wipe out "community" by stacking on the narrative of mistrust in religion. But a relationship with God, while supported by community in a church setting, does not require a church setting.

There needs to be something unifying to hold people together. Without it, many people are lost and many will go out of control. This is the part of the Bible that talks about the "false prophets" and how they will emerge. They will seem to have all the answers to the daily ills and ugliness of the world around us. This is how tyrants are born, in these kind of environments.

If the "wages of sin" is death, then it's coming wholesale very soon. Most people in America have never seen the truly ugly parts of the rest of the world. The non Western world. They don't understand how cheap life is and how expendable they are in the grand scheme of things. Natural selection will always find a way to win. Eventually those who violate civil society will find out a surrogate system always emerges. I grieve for the many honest small business owners being massacred out there. Their livelihoods destroyed for nothing. We are talking every day people, regular people, just trying to get by and feed their children.

It is the inherent pathology of "sin", the utter ungratefulness of it all. So many people in the world and so many in recorded history would give anything to have the freedoms and opportunity that the every day American has in this country and likely takes for granted. I despise ungrateful people. They are the true parasites of any community.

These street thugs have openly asked for confrontation. And soon it appears the "civil society" around them will finally lose all restraint and give it to them.

Oh yes, many so called people of faith, have used Gods great name for selfish gain, and God’s word reminds us, It’s God himself that will wipe out their names out of the book of life.  Revenge will be mind it says in God’s Word.

In all fazes in today’s world there continues to be much corruption, in the churches in all religions, and governments, in business, God’s Word reminds us, for the love of money is the root of All Evil, not having money, but the love of it.

Always Appreciate your post Blue Horseshoe, I might not always give a response to them, but I truly thank you for them.

If the scope of government fell at the local level, gerrymandering wouldn't even be an issue.  The only reason why it's a real issue is to win congressional seats.  If you reduce the power of the congress by keeping everything as local as possible, there's virtually no need to for gerrymandering.

But you can't keep the state-level politics out of local politics, and plenty of states are gerrymandered to hell. Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Maryland are prime examples. I think Illinois is also. If you have a roughly 50/50 D/R split in your population but one of the parties controls 75% or more of the state legislature, local politics won't prevail.

ETA: Looks like I was wrong about WI and IL. 10 most gerrymandered states

Ask yourself why the Washington DC area is the richest part of the country. Why? They don’t make anything.  They aren’t Wall Street or Hollywood or a Silicon Valley.  All that money comes from one source. We are funding them and they don’t GAF about us.

Gerrymandering is only relevant at the federal level, meaning House and Senate seats.  If you take away the importance of the federal level seats, you reduce the need for gerrymandering.

When you run for a seat on your towns council, districts are meaningless because the whole town votes for you (except major cities which are already monopolized by Democrats already).  Same with the county and state level.  The whole county votes for you.  The whole states votes for the governor and they're all popular vote.  Except for the major cities, there's not need to gerrymander.

Biggest problem with the government, is that the government runs it.

We elect people with zero experience. In most cases they aren't even capable of running their own household yet a town, City or Country.

Anyone can become a Politician, no experience required, none.

Like Donald Trump, for instance? Your average middle school civics student would have been more qualified for POTUS.

Well, at least you admit that you lied. It is kind of funny and sad, a liar lying about someone else being a liar.

You said you had a list of 30,000 lies by Donald Trump while he was president. I would like to see that list.

And yet he did a good job. Peace and prosperity were the order of the day until the China virus and when the DNC unleashed their soldiers on the country to burn, loot and murder.

All of them. Biden hired Trannies as cabinet members, zero experience. AOC was slinging beers in a bikini, Obama was a "neighborhood planner".

It's everywhere though, especially at the lower levels of Govt. It's a popularity contest

Well said. I think the grotesque gerrymandering that is regularly engaged in would need to be dealt with before we could make any real changes in this area, though.

NC Republicans going after one of the good Dems, not cool:

Bee saying this forever.  I don't like how people believe our elected representatives are smarter than us.  They did nothing to prove that other than get elected.  That does in no way make them smarter.

The US Government is completely broken.  Nothing works.  We don’t even have a Speaker of the House.  Both parties suck.  The Democrats have turned into woketard lunatics without a shred of common sense or morality.  The Republicans, on the other hand, have been destroyed by Trump and aren’t much better.

So here we are.  Just about every facet of American life is worse than it was 30 years ago.  America is a shell of what it used to be, and i don’t see any solution on the horizon.  A Constitutional Republic can’t exist in a country as large and diverse as ours.  It has to be split up.  Time for a national divorce.

The government is working exactly as the establishment wants.  Create chaos and division when they do not have control, use crisises to unite the country to destroy freedoms.  Currently the establishment does not want Congress to work if there are going to be investigations into the corruption.   Until people realize the authoritarian bastards are the real enemy, our freedom is lost.

Lol...typical ignorant comment.   Dehumanizing government  bureaucrats who are illegally censoring and targeting citizens for political reasons?.   They are a huge part of the problem which needs to be eliminated from government.  What a moron you are.
