Oh, there's no doubt her testimony had something to do with all of this.  But the fact is she never should have been President of Harvard to begin with.  She's done irreparable harm to their reputation.  Just because the impetus behind investigating her was her atrocious statements to Congress doesn't mean the investigation and/or it's findings aren't legit.

I'm curious about this as well when it comes to anyone here that regularly uses multiple accounts.   

I can understand it when their main account is on a timeout, but why do it when this isn't the case?

I think it’s reasonable to assume that the hiring standards were lowered, as were the firing standards.  Bottom line - there are unfair standards in place when it comes to racial and antisemitism issues.  There is nothing even remotely close to consistency on these issues.  And that hurts everyone.

Meh, I doubt she'll leave.  She has been at MIT less than a year and in that time has been somewhat receptive to improving free speech.  I don't feel strongly that she should leave, pending the info in this tweet and if it actually turns into something useful.

Also, MIT's "brand" is to be the best technical school in the world.  Harvard's is to be the most prestigious.  Prestige has taken a much bigger hit over this.

I think you are half right - yes, it's for real.  But yes, it's largely performative to get clicks and attention.   It's SM 101 - you don't stand out by being a normal person going about your day you stand out by actively looking for things to be "offended" over and posting videos about it.   The beauty is it works on everybody - you have people sharing to spread the outrage and you have the GC sharing to prove how crazy lefties are.
