Biden has COVID, he said "should his doctors tell him he had a "medical condition," he would consider dropping out".

It doesn't matter at this point. The Dems have nothing that can beat Trump.

I wouldn't of said that a month ago.

Perhaps if the elections were held this week, but already 2024 has eclipsed 2020 as far as unexpected craziness, including Biden's debate disaster and the assassination attempt, and it's almost four months until election day.

Game over if Michelle Obama winds up as the nominee.

What's his qualification? He was married to a President?

Seems like the only people that want Biden to run are his wife Jill, son Hunter, himself, and 80,000,000 Trump Voters.

He obviously can't drop out due to cancer since he cured it upon taking office.

Agree but it appears that he wants no part of running for President. I just don't see anyone else who can beat Trump.

I will say, a lot depends on Trump's RNC speech. If he can manage to come off humble and inclusive, he'll win in a landslide, that's a big if.

Hopefully that's enough to sustain him and keep him going for another 3 1/2 months.

He could use any number of reasons to step aside. Catching Covid would be way down the list I would use.

I would go the route reflecting with my family, trusted advisors, I realize that time has come. We accomplished great things and the last thing I can do is allow another candidate the opportunity to lead. Father Time is undefeated, etc. Gets his bouquets at the DNC.

That speech will be forgotten in less time than it took the nation to forget Biden's SOTU speech. Memories run short in politics, and there is a lot of time between now and election day, with a lot of nuttiness sure to occur between now and then.

I'm hoping a near-death experience has softened Trump and that he really focuses on unity instead of Biden.

We shall see.

Agree. If he can do that he'll win easily.

He definitely looked moved the other night, and it's not like him to show emotion.

COVID would be a pretty flimsy reason for dropping out. Not that I want him to stay in, mind you

Yes, he looked like a softened man grateful to be alive, and it would not have been good had the bullet hit its mark.

I've seen it. I have a client, a truck driver, kind of gruff dude who applied for additional coverage, because he and his wife had a baby, but then he got declined, which puzzled me. When I reached out to underwriting about the decline, they said that just days after the application he'd had a horrific accident while driving his truck and was so badly injured that he couldn't be considered for a policy at the time.

I called him, and he was a changed man. He had come incredibly close to death, and he said he was so blessed and grateful to be alive. He's still on disability and rehab is coming along, but he's not quite able to get back to truck driving.

I suppose I'm lucky and blessed that I haven't been that close to death, but I can imagine that those who do forever see life and the world from a different perspective.

Trump just needs to be a reasonable guy instead of a fiery dude who draws unwanted attention in the form of a flying bullet and further nationwide division.

While the angry rhetoric might draw more people to him, it also ratchets up the crazy in others.

Can't we all just at least try to get along?

Michelle Obama is the only one I think has the pieces of flair to pick up the whole DNC party...  we've heard her named tossed around in .gov circles for months.

While I agree on the part of focusing on unity, it’s funny hearing that from Biden supporter since most heavy liberals are not even close to being focused on unity. And memories running short… hmm. Yeah that’s exactly what I saw from liberals with TDS the  last 3+ years

Well, fock the "heavy liberals" who can't focus on unity. And this whole TDS thing is just silly. There isn't such a thing as Trump Derangement Syndrome, nor is there such a thing as Biden Derangement Syndrome.

One could relatively apply the same symptoms of TDS to BDS, but those are just idiotic labels to explain away opposition.

But we have a unity problem here, and Trump has said he's committed to unity over trashing his opponent and fueling the far-right extreme, thus diffusing the far-left extreme.

I'll sit back and listen and see if he puts his money where his mouth is.

I've been saying for almost four focking years on this board that everything needs to move to the middle.

One reason for that is Biden only being able to transfer his war chest to Kamala. It's like $200 million-plus, if I'm not mistaken. Biden can give to her, but that's about it, but I wonder if he could just spend his own war chest on ads for Michelle Obama.

I agree. He needs to speak to all people and parties Thursday night. The only thing that can stop Trump right now is Trump.

He'd smoke Kamala or Joe regardless

Probably on Joe but not so sure on Kamala, and Trump has plenty of time to shoot off his feet one toe at a time over the next few months.

A black woman running for president would be a force with which to be reckoned.

Nobody takes Kamala seriously. Trump would destroy her.

Shoot... anyone having a chance against the repub after these last 4 years of defeat and societal collapse is a stretch. Don't care who you put in. The majority of America thinks the dems are a laughing stock.

All this tranny nonsense and dudes destroying woman's sports has gotten enough regular people to take notice.

That and even the blue states shutting down because of rampant illegal immigration.

I also think there is a pretty good percentage of folks of color very disenfranchised with the dems and their gay/tranny stuff.  It was juat too danged much for the regular hetero.

Also... the America 1st stuff... well that plays hard.

Unfortunately, Condoleezza isn't interested in the position so we'll have to wait for one to come along.

Head to head the betting markets have Michelle (Obama 3.0) beating Trump. Trump is favored over everyone else.  Fortunately she (he?) isn't anywhere close to being favored to be the nominee.  Kamala is and she's a 2 to 1 favorite over Biden right now.

Biden has TDS

proof, he overturned EVERY SINGLE policy of Trumps regarding the border and allowed people to flow in "unvaxxed" without being checked during the worst pandemic in history of world

if you don't think that is a bad thing you either have no logic or TDS

No, no don’t worry. We know Democrats base their voting off race and sex not the actual merits of the person. You guys have come along ways from wanting judged by the content of our character. Yeesh

I don’t see TDS as explaining away opposition. Then again I’m not a conservative honk. When I think TDS I think of the almost non stop “we’re gonna get him!” Mentality of the left.
It has often felt like liberal focus has still been negative focus on Trump these past 4 years way more so than positive focus on the guy they wanted to be in office.
then again, when it’s Joe Biden, maybe that’s understandable. Easier to focus on “Trump Bad” when there isn’t very much good to say.

and yes, I also understand that the dnc was scared to death of him running again and has spent the past 4 years hyper focused on him.
