jerryskids 6,726 Posted August 14, 2024 When I see a woman like this, my first instinct is to hope she has some illness and isn't some mental thing. But then I think, self, why would you wish an illness on this woman? Which makes me think... it's almost always a woman. Do you ever see a guy by himself masked up outside? Did your brother-in-law miss the part where masks don’t protect the person wearing the mask? They’re designed to protect the mask-wearer from spreading his own illness to others. Just figure if I can do anything to lessen the chance anyone else can catch this, I should. To clarify, when I say "outside," I don't mean in a grocery store, or coming in our out of a store. I presume that those people, like you, were sick and being courteous. I go to Mayo Clinic more often than I'd like, and lots of people are masked up there. Heck, many of my appointments require me to walk through the chemo waiting room (seems like a poor design, now that I think of it). Those poor people are immuno compromised, so I don't blame them even if they are just being cautious. I'm talking about the person walking down the street, alone, masked. 35 minutes ago, posty said: Yes... There a number of studies that show masks don’t help. did you wear a mask when you had the flu before 2020 if the answer is no, that is the point of this thread
