LA Wildfires, 100K people evacuated and counting

Enough of this fawking finger pointing BS this early. It’s only been seventy hours at this point. There is time for that later. There are people in LA suffering losses. I listened to this Fawking  crap days after Katrina. It’s completely a horrible event in our history. We had fires similar to this early last century in San Francisco and Chicago that were devastating. It’s not time for this political infighting right now. It’s time to unite and have some compassion for our country. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Nope. Not gonna fall for the feelings over facts bs....i think everyone here genuinely feels bad for those affected.  We do.  Its horrible.  We can absolutely unite together as a country and support putting the fires out, saving lives, and getting help to those that need it.  But the reasons behind this travesty need to be dealt with as well.   We can do both

Liberals ruin everything they get their hands on.

For the most part, and then tell us we can't talk about them doing so.

Remember when Trump was offering up law enforcement assistance to the cities that were being ransacked, looted, burned down, taken over, by antifa and other liberal rioters and the liberal mayors were refusing help and telling their local police to stand down? Well,  this fire is simply a slight variation on that liberal theme.

Liberals ARE terrorists at heart.

I don't think it's that.  @OldMaid is like a lot of liberals.  They keep their head in the sand regarding issues and trust people like Newsom, never critically evaluating his performance.  This one is personally very dear to me.  I grew up in CA and only left when I saw that it was pretty much a lost cause due to the libs owning the place and implementing worse and worse policies, all while raising taxes through the roof.  And the last time there was a fire as significant as this one near @OldMaid, and she may remember this, I was right down the street from her caring for my dying mother who was basically in the last stages of life and essentially in a coma.  We were on evacuation watch but moving her was going to be very difficult.  Thankfully the home hospice people had a plan in place in case that possibility became reality.  Here we are 6 or 7 years later and they still haven't done anything to mitigate the risk and they are woefully less prepared for a major fire than they were then.  I find it disgusting.  But I guaranfockingtee you @OldMaid voted for both Bass and Newsom last election, and probably Gascon too since there isn't much crime where she lives.

Even if you were correct about all of this (and I don’t have the time to argue whether you are or not) there’s a lot of reasons to vote for liberal Democrats if you yourself are a liberal Democrat, beyond the issues you mentioned.

Ok Tim, and this is what you get.  But at least you're protecting the delta smelt.

Thats a federal action based on what I read.
Again I don’t have time to get into it, but I am highly skeptical of your assertion that liberal policies significantly contributed to this crisis.

What a complete sh!tbag.  This pile of fat defies every element of the oath that actual firemen take to protect lives.  The IAFF should censure this whale. DEI is poison.

Breaks my heart boyo, breaks my heart.

Entire neighborhoods leveled.  So much lost.  Truly tragic.  And then to see politics injected inexplicably.  I don't understand why people act like this.  You get it boyo, I know you do

If i had to guess i would guess that everyone on the system decided to wet down their lawns and roofs at the exact same time putting a tremendous draw on the system thereby reducing pressure.  i would guess the system was never designed for an 80, 90, or 100 percent draw at the same moment.  Now as i said, this is a guess.  I have no knowledge about what happened.

My news source often is CNBC.  A Californian, with knowledge, not sure of his name though indicated the reservoir was mismanaged.  Not sure of the truth with that either.

There was water boyo, lots of water.  But with a fire like this it wasn't enough.  It could never be enough.  With the winds so severe they couldn't attack the fire from the air which is what was needed.  With the YUGE water demand some of the hydrants went dry.

Has nothing to do with the Delta Smelt boyo.  This is a lie that Trump likes to tell.  In case you haven't noticed he's prolific liar.

I saw on the news that Canadians are helping fight the fire though men and equipment.  Nice to see our neighbors helping us even though they are ridiculed by our president elect.

Trump goes on the attack against Newsome and the Delta Smelt meanwhile real leaders are helping and our allies (as of know) are helping as well.  Maybe it's not a good idea to troll our allies.

The rain allowed a bunch of grass, low lying plants to grow, then it dried out.

I was up in wine area of NoCal a few years back in early summer, They had a wet spring and there was lush grass everywhere.

Mentioned it to a local how it must be nice since they were in a drought. He said something to the effect of yeah but all this grass will be fuel if we have a fire. They had a huge one later that summer about 20 miles from where we were talking.

Newsflash! People that spend their career on camera are vain and care deeply how they look while on camera. Megyn Kelly fairly oozes hypocrisy on this front. That said, it's also funny and Muir deserves some blowback.
