2 pointsoh no? You know who applied for the permit? Former Trump aide Megan Powers. The same aide that applied for the permit for Jan 6 https://wtop.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/25-0940-America250.org-application_Redacted.pdf The team was filled with Fox News talking heads and other Magas. It was a Maga hijack https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2025/06/military-parade-army-trump-american250-a250/

2 pointsHe's more of a Walz guy than a Trump guy. You should try to be more factual and a lot less dramatic with your points. Unless you're going for the teenage girl affect on purpose.

2 pointsI would not make the mistake Reagan made and which you want to repeat. I would not reward those who have violated our borders, our soveriegnty. I would deport them all. I would not listen to their sob stories that we are disrupting families or communities. The reason I would not is that it would encourage, it would justify continuing the cycle of illegal immigration, just as it has. Additionally it is an insult to those who have properly stood in line and have legally sought entry. Now me, I would expand the number of legal immigrants we take in each year. I would expand the guest worker program as well. Additionally I would allow each Congressperson and Senator to sponsor up to ten nuclear families per year so long as they otherwise qualifified for admittance and citizenship. I would massively tighten the asylum program so that not every sob story sister can get in. I would assure that asylum can only be applied for from outside our borders, not inside. I would tighten and clarify birthright citizenship including the fact that it does not come with the right to be raised in this country by parents who are illegal, it does not confer citizenship or residency rights on the parents. If illegals have kids here maybe the kid is a citizen and should be allowed to return when they reach the age of majority after their parents raise that kid in their country of citizenship. In the end you look to support and comfort those who have jumped the line, who have broken the law. I look to support and comfort those who have and are standing in line, who are honoring our law. One stance gives us borders and soveriegnty, one stance does not.

2 pointsJ6 was only in a small area. Makes it ok apparently. But Dems cried for National Guard then. Weird how things change on a whim.

1 pointI can think of no better way to honor the U.S. Army on its 250th birthday than for our narcissistic, autocratic president making the parade about himself and his birthday, resulting in a huge waste of taxpayer dollars and pathetic, embarrassing attendance while No Kings and Pride events draw tens of millions.

1 pointI am old enough to remember when movements tried to have their protest rallies on the National Mall. They wanted to boast of the Million Man this or the Million woman that. Now, they are outsourcing them to localities. That must be convenient for those who no longer have to make the travel commitment of the old days. Why had i wanted to attend one of these demonstrations I could have only 6 miles from my home in a fairly red county. I did not attend. I chose to spend the time with my family. We viewed the Angkor exhibit at the Museum and then had lunch.

1 pointI’m sorry but what you wrote betrays a complete ignorance of history. Almost none of the immigrants who came here at the turn of the 20th century, from Eastern and central Europe, Italy, China, Japan, etc. settled in “the woods”; they huddled in the big cities: New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, etc. These were Emma Lazarus’ “huddled masses”. Their presence created overcrowding, ghettoes, crime, and they were complained about then as much as our immigrants are now, if not more so. Public education was mandatory by then. There are plenty of books about this. You needn’t stay ignorant.

1 pointBecause Trump threatened them so they had to reign it in.

1 pointJapan is still cool. We've been all over the island, and still lots of stuff to see. Honestly the food is meh... once you get past the ramen/sushi stage, it's just a lot of fish and rice. Same same all around. I will say I really like how they do sweets/desserts here. Much less sweet, but just sweet enough you know? And really... I haven't found a bad cup of coffee here. They really took to the coffee scene and aren't afraid of strong coffee. Coming from the pacific NW coffee scene we didn't know what to expect. Really pleasantly surprised. We went to Thailand for the Christmas week. That was a lot of fun. Stuck around Bangkok and just did day trips out to the sites. I will say, Bangkok is like Vegas's older seedier brother. That place is wild. Sooooooo many silver haired dudes walking around with 18 year old Thai's... I would say chicks but I dunno. Hahaha... definitely the main destination for "passport bros" it seems. We want to go to Bali, Singapore, or the Philippines next for a long vacation. We can take military hops over to South Korea and may do so over one of these long weekends. Wife and daughter dig K-dramas on netflix so I'm sure there's something to do with that over there. Anyway... got my first interim retirement check last month, so that alleviated a ton of stress wondering if I was going to have to wait 6 months to a year to get paid like some folks have. I've also gotten access to my TSP (.gov 401k) and have started drawing from there as well. Not really any bills here so just living the dream really. I may stop taking that TSP, as I don't know that I really need it. Though... that's the switch I need to turn off in my head right? What did I save all this for if not to eventually use it? I guess that's one of the big things with retirees, being able to switch from save mode, to spend mode. Anyway... living life. How you folks been?
