I'd dated someone for three years and for a variety of geographic / career type reasons she's across the country and I'm still here. So I met a new blowup doll in 2006. Although we got along great on a personal level and the sex (quality and quantity) was terrific, it always felt to me like we were fock friends, not really lovers, and it finally fizzled out in November. So it's been over a year since I've been with someone I'm really into physically and emotionally. I've been dating but I'm looking for a relationship, not a quick hookup, and I'm sick of having the same dumb conversations and going through the same first date motions blah blah. Dating when you're over 30 is the suck.

Actually ... believe it or not ... I have a really good job right now as a legal secretary. And by "legal secretary" I mean "marketing manager."

 

I did consider moving across the country but 1) the city I'd be moving too has a crappy economy and few jobs in my field and 2) the girl I'd be moving there to be with is done with graduate school in '08 and says she's willing to move then. So I'd be taking a big step back in my career just to move down there for less than two years.

 

It's something I've thought about but it don't make much sense.

Well, '08 is around the corner, you know. If you two are that into eachother why not make plans to move somewhere together after she graduates? If you both decide soon where that somewhere would be, you could start mapping out the job prospects for yourself ahead of time in that area. In the meantime, you two could see eachother every couple of months and have a long distance thing going?

 

Unless of course you two aren't really interested enough to pursue that sort of thing. Then it just makes sense to keep doing what you're doing... keep meeting new people. Maybe eventually you'll find someone who makes you feel great again.
