Someone mentioned earlier that certain states may secede over time, and I think that's more likely. But, we probably won't see it in our lifetimes. I've lived all over the country and have seen plenty of ignorant racists in New England, bleeding heart liberals in TX, and both prosperous and down-trodden folks throughout the country. Granted, there are certain states that have populations whose interests are largely similar, but they're not 100% there. More migration and separation would be needed to get them to that point. A lot of people point to TX when they talk about a state seceding. Do you really think the varied races and social classes of TX could ever rally behind a single idealism enough to stand and fight for it? There's no way the bruthas in Houston will join up with the gays in Dallas, the messicans in Corpus and the crackers in Waco to form an effective army. However, if they were ever directly attacked on a large scale, all bets are off. Just because a state has been labeled as a red or blue state, don't assume that their population holds a singularly left or right political view.
