ppierce 2 Posted August 28, 2014 He's not coming back to me in rd 2 and i just have to believe he will fall into at least 12 td's in that offense. Jimmy is enticing obviously so his D. Thomas but i gotta believe Ball finishes top 5. My only concern are the numerous 1st round unproven rb's that have burned me every year ala Dom Davis, Lamont Jordan, CJ Spiller, on and on they go. Flgatorguy87 160 Posted August 28, 2014 Nothing wrong with it. If you've done your research and that's your man then take him if you want him. Like you said he isn't getting back to you. I did the same thing and paired him with Gio at 11/14. Maybe a little early for both, but its who I liked.

roroco 75 Posted August 29, 2014 If you draft Ball at 1.7 I will come to your house and punch you in the throat. Then I will bind your arms and legs and let a mosquito go to town on you. Â I hope this helps because there isn't much more I can do to convince you to wait for Ball closer to his ADP.

weepaws 2,478 Posted August 29, 2014 Ball is worth a first round pick on that football team . If you wait to draft him because of someone else's rankings , and not your own you will kick your self silly .

Phil Simms 11 127 Posted August 29, 2014 I feel like Denver May end up in an RBBC. Still plenty of points to be had for Ball but I have him as a 2nd rounder huge upside
Frozenbeernuts 1,652 Posted August 29, 2014 The problem with denver in a rbbc is once peyton likes a back and trusts him, that back is staying on the field. The onpy reason ball doesnt get a ton of snaps will be pass blocking. Is ronnie fumbles really a better option? No way in fock. Is rookie Cj anderson better? Even more of a no way in fock. True that but the thing is if his pass blocking is not up to speed he will get benched faster than if he fumbles 3 times a game. That is the main thing that would concern me about Ball. He was supposed to win the job last year and lost out to an underachiever. That makes me question him a bit. I would take Demaryius.
RaiderHaters Revenge 3,610 Posted August 29, 2014 team in my sig is a little skewed but I got him at 3.

Hey everyone was all over ball last year and those of us who went for moreno were more than pleased. Its gonna be ball. If its too risky then i dont know what to tell you about the other options like murray, gio, martin, lynch.

They are all 2nd round picks IMO, Ball included. With the possible exception of Lynch.
Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted August 29, 2014 Assuming PPR, I'd pass and take the best WR or even Manning/Brees/Rodgers (6 pt Passing TDs) before Ball.
Challenger 72 Posted August 29, 2014 If you know stuff, always reach, if you don't, draft by ADP, then get 8/8 and hope to luck out during playoff. Â My advise, reach.

xenophobe 1 Posted August 29, 2014 Agreed. Here are the backs I have over Ball: SM, JC, MF, EL, DM, AP. If those guys are taken (and only if), I do have a drop off in tier but Ball does come into the conversation along with D Thomas. Then look for a WR or someone like D Martin in round 2. rowdystylz1 3 Posted August 29, 2014 I selected Ball at 6 overall in a 12 team .5 ppr draft... Hes my #5 RB behind McCoy, Forte, JC, Lacy.... All these top RBs are pretty fluid and you should stick to your guns... No reason Ball cant finish #1 overall in that O.

KSB2424 3,085 Posted August 29, 2014 I have him ranked 11th overall. Even with the lack of depth of quality RB's this year I can't justify drafting Monte Ball over the likes of Jimmy G, Dez Bryant or Peyton Manning. Just can't do it.

Challenger 72 Posted August 29, 2014 Got ball in the 3rd round. He's my rb2 paired with forte. Best value yet. Â This will be lovely, but at the end of the day, only one person can get Ball.
TheUsualSuspect 207 Posted September 1, 2014 Got ball in the 3rd round. He's my rb2 paired with forte. Best value yet. vash1012 19 Posted September 1, 2014 Ball did not make it back to me after at 2.24. I wish he had. I woulda taken him in a heart beat. I also woulda taken him early 2nd round after getting Dez or D. Thomas. I'm not taking a completely unproven guy in the first round no matter how good his situation is. I would rather have a guy who, baring injury, you KNOW is going to produce even if he doesn't end up being a top 5 guy.
p00h 85 Posted September 1, 2014 got him with 5th pick in 2nd yesterday, 17th overall. 6 pts/passing td league, the top 3 qbs went in the 1st. I'm not one of these guys pencilling ball in for 1500 and 15, mainly because I've been around the block enough to know that a ton of these unproven young dudes will never amount to anything, regardiess of their talent, situation, etc, but couldn't pass him up there. Julio and AJ green were the other options, and under difference circumstances I'd have opted with AJ, but having taken calvin in the 1st I decided on rb. We'll see how it pans out. Can't imagine he'll be a total bust, but he's gotta prove something before being annointed the next terrell davis...
MDC 5,915 Posted September 1, 2014 I'd take him in a heartbeat in the 2nd but my pick is 24, no chance he's still there.
Djgb13 2,338 Posted September 1, 2014 I also have Forte (1.3) and Ball (2.21) Â Ellington in the 4th to likely be my flex... I honestly don't know how I feel about this. I had the same happen. I took forte, Marshall, ball, and Ellington in the first four rounds of my 12 teamer. I love Ellington in the flex. He's a rb2 with borderline rb1 potential. Rico Suave 1 Posted September 2, 2014 On the eve of my 14 team, 6pts per QB TD, PPR league draft I have the 7th pick and have not considered Ball at all until today when I seriously started to consider him (and Doug Martin). Since drawing the slots a couple of weeks ago I have been leaning towards taking Gio as a reach only because he won't be there at 22 and I would rather have him than Foster, Lynch, etc. but now I feel like I should take a true bell cow like Ball or Martin. I am known for not taking any extra time when it's my turn to pick but I think I may take the entire 15 minutes before walking the card to the podium tomorrow night.
