ZeroTolerance 583 Posted May 31, 2018 https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/news/acts-of-faith/wp/2018/05/29/a-televangelist-wants-his-followers-to-pay-for-a-54-million-private-jet-its-his-fourth-plane/ Jesse Duplantis, a televangelist with viewers across the globe, says God told him he needs a new jet.Specifically, God told Duplantis he needs a Dassault Falcon 7X, a three-engine private jet capable of carrying 12 to 16 passengers at speeds up to 700 miles per hour. The Falcon 7X, which would be the fourth plane owned by Jesse Duplantis Ministries, has a range of almost 6,000 miles and costs about $54 million new, according to SherpaReport (although used ones are listed online for as little as $20 million)...In fact, Duplantis said that "if Jesus was physically on the Earth today, he wouldn't be riding a donkey.""He'd be in an airplane preaching the Gospel all over the world," he said.Duplantis said God told him he needed the plane "in one of the 'greatest statements the Lord ever told me.'""He said, 'Jesse, you wanna come up where I'm at?'" according to Duplantis. "And I said, 'What do you mean?'" "He said, 'I want you to believe in me for a Falcon 7-X." "So, I said, 'OK.' But the first thing I thought of: 'Well, how am I going to pay for it?'" That one dude in Texas does, but most are just TV and they prey on the elderly who I would wager, 90% of their income comes from senior citizens who watch on average, 8 hours of this garbage a day. That cat sat in prison for like a decade and just thought, how am I gonna make a comeback? What market has not yet been tapped?? The Tribulation. That's it!! I'll sell 7 years supply of freeze dried food and solar powered generators and.... I just watched a video of Kenneth Copeland, another charismatic figure, defending Duplantis's need for a private jet as the two sat at a table. The logic (using the term loosely) was astoundingly twisted. But it got me wondering why televangelists are talking about all the travels they're doing. Turns out they actually are darting around, and I think it's mostly, if not fully, for healing conferences. The sad thing is I was noticing people of all ages in their audiences at these things. Looked closer...good amount looked sick So there used to be people with already charismatic beliefs that bought into the healing stuff, but it looks like a market is being found with desperate people who don't come from that background per se. Their movement has transformed and it's actually shittier than keying into old people parked in front of TVs. They have probably toned down the hysterics and Benny Hin (sp) esque spectacles (if these two ever had them) and they're mixing with the mainstream evangelical movement, through the events styling and their platitudes and jargon.
