Holy Mary Mother of God...180 mph Cat 5 bearing down on the Bahamas. Pressure down to 913 mb. Only moving a 7mph.  The last one similiar, in wind speed, was Andrew in 92 I think.  I cant find any webcams that are still up.

Wave heights...even with no eyewall landfall, flooding will be catastrophic.  The only redeeming quality of this storm is that the hurricane forced winds dont expand much outside the eyewall.

Sum b1tch keeps getting stronger. Said it’s predicted to take the same path as Matthew. However, Matthew was a Cat 2 while this is a Cat 5+. Flooding was INSANE with Matthew. This would be much worse

I’ll find out what we are doing more tomorrow. Classes have already been canceled for next week and nobody is allowed to swim at the beach starting today.

My wife might have to work. If she does then we will have to stay. She works in the lab at a hospital. We will find out more tonight/tomorrow since she works tonight.  Biggest downside of working in a hospital is while others evacuate you don’t get to

Governor just announced they are gonna start evacuating Charleston tomorrow at noon. Still not sure if wife and I will be leaving or not. I know she said she’s scheduled to work during the hurricane unless they tell her otherwise

Big worries for you, man. I can watch safely online whereas I have to think a whole lot of your 'stuff' must be right there on the coast ready to be battered repeatedly. It can't be a good feeling. 

My big natural disaster was that 8.0 Sichuan earthquake eleven years ago. I got a good shaking for a minute and a half(plus two weeks of constant aftershocks in the thousands) , a good scare, a good story, and a week off work. But all my stuff was still intact and I didn't even lose internet access. Mother Nature is not going to be so kind to you.
