“Lawful subpoenas”, literally require an enforcement mechanism; that’s the “poena” part of the word.  The enforcement mechanism is a judicial penalty, and that penalty can only be created if the House votes to authorize an impeachment inquiry.

Absent a vote to authorize, the Legislative Branch has not established compulsion authority (aka judicial enforcement authority), as they attempt to work through their quasi-constitutional “impeachment inquiry” process.

Instead of subpoenas, Adam Schiff (House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence); and Chairman Eliot L. Engel (House Committee on Foreign Affairs) can only send out request letters. The compliance is discretionary based on the outlook of the recipient.

This.  He couldn't back his posts up with facts, only emotion and feelings so he left.  At FBGheys, the forums are filled with "feelings are facts" guys so he fits right in and won't get resistance like he does here.  Plus, the mods will ban people he reports since they are all on the same side.

I don't keep up either. It was still just a big box full of nothing but bubblewrap when I last checked in. When Joe Biden was vice-president, he successfully pressured Ukraine to fire the prosecutor investigating the oil and gas company that for some reason hired his son for $50K/month by threatening to withhold aid money. Apparently, that was perfectly acceptable behavior, not corruption. Anyway, when Trump asked them to reopen the investigation, that is unacceptable. They may also dig up a 3 1/2 minute parking meter violation from 1987, and a negative Yelp review of one of his hotel restaurants. 

Anyway, the MSM, in their cognitive dissonance bubble,  thinks impeachment is a fabulous idea. Here's are a couple of samples of their righteous outrage:

I don’t think you get how this works. There probably is a transcript since it’s basically a deposition. No it has not been publicly released. This Taylor fella will most likely be testifying publicly in front of the senate, though, if there is an impeachment trial. If you say his testimony is “damning” and then he gets in front of the senate and it actually isn’t, well you’ve just lost your trial.
