Found out a friend's mother-in-law is in critical condition with the Covid and not expected to make it.  I don't really know her except that she is morbidly obese, well over 3 bills.

If we get nothing else out of this Covid experience, can we at least stop the charade that any size is healthy?

Has anyone said any size is healthy?  I think the "any size can be beautiful" mantra has been out there, but I didn't know people said any size can be healthy.  If so, that flies in the face of all science.  I'd be shocked if any scientific type people would say that.  Unless they're woke of course.

It is ridiculous, I am not overweight by any means but it would still be healthy for me to lose 10 pounds and try to get back to my highschool weight.

Thanks for the link.  I live right on the border of Arapahoe and Douglas counties so that's very relevant data to me.  I've tried to follow that page as well as the state's page on Covid but hadn't looked too much lately, since things opened up.  But man we've come a long way quick.  We're down a couple levels in just a month or so.  That's awesome!!

It’s not fake that most of the deaths had underlying conditions.

However many of them would still be alive if they didn’t get covid.  Covid was the underlying cause in 91% of the “with covid” deaths.

Also a lot of the “causes/comorbidities” listed on that page are just symptoms of covid.

So my wife's best friend has cancer, colorectul that spread to her lung and liver.  I don't know all the specifics but she has half her lungs and liver.  Good news is her recent scans and numbers are fairly good considering.  She's living with it but has it at bay right now.....obviously she'll fight it the rest of her life but things are as good as they can be right now.  With that said, having cancer and half of her lungs, Covid-19 would be an immediate death sentence.

She still cannot get vaccinated.  They have perfectly healthy teachers in front of her in "line".   Apparently these "front line workers" even if under 40 and healthy have priority over our friend.

My 74 year old mom with stage 4 breast cancer couldn’t get vaccinated, but prisoners could.

My friends sister is a nurse and has been vaccinated but she begged for her sister to get it instead of her, was denied.  Another friend is a teacher and she's done the same, willing to give up her spot for our friend.  Called her oncologist and all, but was told it can't happen that way.  I don't get it.

It is a bit of a mess. We have a new set of eligible people. It is people 65+ with 2 or more co-morbidities. Of course one of the options for a co-morbidity is smoking.
