Yeah, here's the thing. Don't dress your kid up in whatever political bulshit you believe in. Same thing goes with Pro or anti weed t-shirts. Or anti abortion or whatever the f***. Let your kid be a kid not a freaking pawn so you can end up getting on the Internet.

I predicted this thread wouldn’t get past 3 replies before this was brought up.  I get what you are saying - certainly not something I would have done.  But what you are saying is that a child shouldn’t wear a hat that says “Make America Great Again” because Liberals can’t control their emotions and frustrations.  Not sure I want to live in a country where something as simple as that - a hat advocating for American greatness and for our current duly elected President - can’t be worn by a child.  Just think how focking crazy that sounds.  I’m starting to think it’s becoming our civic duty to start wearing these hats out in public - to defend the first amendment.  It’s important enough to fight for.  But yes, I agree, leave the kids out of it.

I remember when my mom wouldn't let me watch The Simpsons because Bart Simpson use the word sucks. So now we got parents who have no problem with their kids wearing stuff touting the guy who said grab Em by by the p****.

 

 let's face it, the kids don't give a s***. They're just pawns so mom and dad can get more hits on their my Bookface space page.

 

 remember a lot of seven-year-olds wearing I like Ike baseball caps by any chance? Didn't think so.

Maybe they’d like the kid better if the parents wanted hormone therapy to transition him into a girl, so they can parade around their little heroine to virtue signal their own wokeness. That’s a life that matters.

I agree.  But still zero reason to steal a kids hat rip up signs and try to assault people.  People think they have a right these days to use violence against anyone who disagrees with their views.

All I see is violence from left supporters.  Or people who wont vote but hate Trump.  I mean the tally is very lopsided.

I will one thousand percent disagree with this.  There is NO excuse for going after a kid.  None.

No.  Just no.  Even saying "don't put politics on your kids" opens the door to defending the actions of these adults.  Don't even say that.  That is offensive.  The reality here is those adults are lucky because some parents would have beat the hell out of them to protect their kids.

As an American they have a right to wear any of the things you mentioned. What kind of America do you want to live in? A country were the most violent citizens dictates what we say and do.

But it will just be the conservative that can’t do this, the Left is safe because conservatives don’t attack children. I see kids wearing liberal BS and marching in protests all the time and that is their right as an American.

 2 subjects I will never steer my kids on are religion and politics. Those should always be their beliefs not mine.  We expose them to religion but also talk about other religions. We don't talk politics with them but if they ask I give them both sides of it. 

Heck even if you wanted your kid to think exactly like you do why strap that on them anyway? Most adults don't understand the issues that are in front of us why you think some kid is going to?

That's fine that YOU do that with YOUR kids, but not everyone agrees with that.  In fact, I'll go as far as to say that I think you're doing more harm to your kids by taking that route.  You're giving other adults who "don't understand the issues that are in front of us", to have a bigger impact on your kids than you yourself.  I think that's not only irresponsible, but dangerous.

Isn't that how its supposed to go? You are influenced by voices you hear. The most influential voices on politics probably aren't always mom and dad. Id rather them look for smart people and process both sides of an issue.

Can someone tell me how this was "Outside of the DNC Convention", since the convention was virtual?  That looks a lot more like a mall parking lot, then the site of a convention.

I saw a celebration with cars and flashing lights and fireworks outside of the convention at the end. Was that virtual too? Pay attention dufus.

Yes, people are influenced by everyone... but at all times, the parent should have set a foundation for ALL information for their kids.  Not just certain ones.  Parents not being the most influential voices on politics for kids today, don't you think that's part of the problem?  Children are very impressionable.  If a parent doesn't set a foundation, then the most popular voices they hear will be the ones they go with.  That's not good.  Those other voices will probably know less of what they're talking about than their parents.  Ever hear the phrase, "the loudest voices are the most ignorant"?  Looking smart and being dumb can happen.  I mean, look at the politicians in this country.  Look at AOC for example, she's an idiot.  Good thing she looks smart to Dems.

The loudest voices in our government today are Democrats and all of them have extremist points of view.  That's what you think kids should be influenced by?  No thank you.

No, a 7 year old doesn't understand politics, he's just wearing a hat that his parents gave him.  That's not dangerous at all.  Letting extremist politicians being the foremost voice in your children's heads, that's dangerous.
