I would be disinclined to raise a child in almost ANY city.   Most cities are bastions of stupidity and violence.  If you live in the city and have money you send your kids to private school to keep them away from the chaff.  But in general, the liabilities far outweigh the benefits.

Ive said it over and over.  Not sure how many of you live in or real close to big cities.  Other than a great job you cannot leave I dont understand it.  People in these places are insane.  The elected officials are insane.  The ghetto people are insane.  And in most all cases it is expensive living.  

Ive said too much.  Please stay in the cities.  Keep my rural backroads clean and drama free.

Thankfully, at least right now, Michigan lays a flat 3.5% on all income.  That extra 3% is JUST to live and work in Detroit.

Our sales taxes are anywhere from 7 to nearly 9%. And property taxes are big too, depending on where you live in CA.

Does CA Tax food?  Our sales tax is 6%--0% on food.    Property taxes were controlled by Proposal  A so they can only rise by the level of inflation or I think it is 5% --Whichever is lower, annually.

My parents are grandfathered into their property taxes, so every time it comes up, my dad is like, "You better vote no on that." His are probably around $1k/year. Mine are $6k, maybe more.

I dont think everyone here is certain he will win.   A few but not a majority.  I think all of us who like America and Capitalism are really hoping he wins like last time people were convinced he had no chance.

This is where I'm at.  He certainly has a better chance than last time, but I'm not expecting a win.  My company is already planning for a Biden win...employee bonuses likely will go down.  Our ownership group is working with our CPA firm and attorneys for estate planning strategies.  Plan for the worst, hope for the best.

If he doesn't win, meh. We will have to adjust a few things financially, but otherwise we will deal with it; like we did when Obama won. I didn't cry and freak when that happened.

States do control how they run their elections but voting 9 days later is giving them way too much latitude. The losing side now gets to take another swing at it. How a SC justice can't see that as a problem I have no words for it. There is a reason FF rosters are locked at the start of the game. I guess that's it then. Biden has NC.
