What a SOLID SOLID list. I would put Springsteen at number 1 and remove the Eagles, but the list as a whole. Solid. Doesn't need rankings.

Not too bad, though I would have Springsteen higher as well, along with Pearl Jam, U2 and The Eagles...

I am surprised Nickelback isn't on there

Seems like a waste of typing to put them

The Beatles as a whole. Right time, right place. Like Elvis.

What's the criteria here? Someone doesn't like a band so that means they are overrated?

it's just opinion. Not sure you can make criteria.

These world-renowned classic rock bands have ridden the coattails of generic universal praise for far too long. With their passionate vocals and piercing guitars, they all found their unique voice in the music industry. But just because they found their voice doesn’t mean they’re actually as good as people say they are. We apologize in advance, because your favorite band might actually be overrated too.

Rolling Stones

Even though they been at it for a long long time, and had plenty of hits, Mick Jagger has never been able to sing worth a dump

Grateful Dead

I guess they're ok if you're a hippy and value earthy jam music

The Clash

Rock the Casbah simply blows, can't stand anything I've heard from them

The Ramones

their music is way too simple to be celebrated as anything more than your average garage band

There was a time when I would get all worked up over a list like this if I didn't agree with it. Now I realize it takes way too much energy to get defensive about this crap. I no longer give a flying fock. Just listen to what you like. The only person you need to justify stuff to is yourself.

everything but rap, country and the ones I listed

There is no genre of music I don't like. There is always a song that I can enjoy. Thanks for the clarification.

Spot on with Pink Floyd and Yes,

Springsteen, U2, Kiss should be higher

Metallica, the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Iron Maiden should be removed.

Joy Division and Mumford & Sons???  Who?

As Tbay said, you have to be rated to be over rated.

Many of the bands listed seemed to have dividing points (almost 2 careers).  ie: I love a lot of U2's earlier music, but got bored with their albums after No Surrender.

I never liked U2, before I knew what an insufferable douche Bono was. Same with Springsteen, never liked him. You play music. Keep your political views to yourself, thank you.

I agree with Mumford and sons though.

Is Mumford and sons considered rock and roll?? I've always thought they and Dave Matthew's were folksie rock at best :dunno:. They don't "rock".

New Order was pretty big I would say the 4th biggest group in the alternative world in the 80s

Smiths, Cure, Depeche, New Order
