You know, I guess call me heartless. But this has happened throughout history. But, you can or nobody talks about it, there were tons of Americans left in Vietnam. And I'm not talking to Hanoi Hilton. Everywhere you've got conflict, you have do gooder morons who deliberately put themselves In Harm's Way. I mean literally, pick a continent. Repeatedly warned not to be there, but swear to Jesus or their corporate Lourdes pain management huge money will take care of them. But then &  moan when they don't have the full strength and force of the American Military on their back.

I've talkef to who work in Afghanistan and Iraq making great money for Halliburton or who the ever. Who brag about it. But their same gold digger wives will be the first ones on CNN bitching and moaning because - shocker - something bad happened in a hellhole.

Do you have any idea how many poor Special Forces motherfukers have died trying to save these religious or corporate ?

Tipsy. If you didn't know after 20 years that you were in a bad place where bad things might happen? Seriously, fulk off. He last 3 U.s. presidents swore that he was going to get us out of Afghanistan in a hurry.

That wasn't a God damn hint?

I'm not trying to be heartless. But Jesus, if I walk down to the corner of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Boulevard and then that I'm in an unsafe place? That's on me. Especially when I've been told for 20 years not to go there.

We have way more technology now to be able to contact and get people out now than we did in the Vietnam War.  Not even close.

But I do agree about being there.  Like the school trip to Afghanistan or whatever.  I read that and was like WTF?

Right?

Like there's some parent saying, "well Disneyland doesn't require masks. Let's go with the safer option of Kabul Afghanistan."

I find it beyond belief that the US did not anticipate the POSSIBILITY of an immediate collapse of the Afghan government.  Those intelligence folks know if some nobody middle manager terrorist picked his nose with his right or left hand while taking a dump inside of a cave.

The most likely answer is that they anticipated it but considered it a low probability.  Which is believable.  But they aren't saying that.  Because the media won't push the question and we are supposed to just ignore it and move on.

There are numerous reports that they knew this was a possibility for years. How sad is it that we spent years and billions training and equipping an army and they laid down their weapons and ran day 1?

What a colossal waste of time, money and lives.

The intelligence community considered it a high enough probability that they left several weeks ago.

Edited for accuracy.

The taliban agreed not to start taking land until after we left. Biden was clearly within rights, if he was locked into Trump's agreement like he said he was, to bomb the sh!t out of them as soon as they started taking over Provinces on their way to Kabul. We could have slowed/stopped their advancement long enough to get everybody and all our equipment out before they ever got near Kabul.

They knew it.

They didn't care.

I mean it was a failed cause.  But they lie to people's face and act like they were blindsided.  They weren't.

But lets just say they were for the hell of it.  What does that say about our newly woke diverse liberal military and intel?

Since the start of U.S. military operations in Afghanistan through mid-2019, nearly 2,400 American servicemembers have died. Additionally, 20,719 U.S. service members have been wounded in hostile action, according to the Defense Department.

Stop parroting that stupid sh*t from Biden.

NO ONE is saying we should’ve stayed, except to say that we should’ve stayed long enough to get our people out.

I do not disagree with a lot of that.  2 things though.

First, I was responding to someone saying we should have bombed them when they were showing American weapons and I was saying that that will never happen as long as they are holding hundreds of US citizens.

Second, we did tell people they should leave by Aug 31, then we pulled our troops out and without American air support the Taliban took over.  We told people they had until the end of the month then said oh hey get yourself to the airport and maybe we will let you in.  You are correct but they focked this up.

Gee, I wonder how understated is that '100' number?

Guarantee they eventually say they bravely went in and got them all out. You can easily foretell all of their lies even before they make them up.

Didn't creepy joey say many times ISIS is not a threat over there?

White House says there are 'active' ISIS threats in Afghanistan, as 'closer to 100' Americans remain

The White House said Thursday that there continue to be "active" threats from ISIS-K in Afghanistan, and that officials are in "close touch" with the roughly 100 American citizens remaining in the country following the U.S. military withdrawal.

During a press briefing Thursday, press secretary Jen Psaki said that the number of Americans still in Afghanistan following the full U.S. troop withdrawal on Monday is "closer to 100".

"We are in close touch with the State Department, our diplomatic officials, with all of these individuals and are working in close coordination to discuss how they can leave the country, and if they can leave the country," Psaki said.

Psaki, touching on reports of potential charter flights to aid those Americans, said that the United States does not have personnel on the ground in Afghanistan, and confirmed that the U.S. "does not control air space."

"There are active, continue to be active, ISIS-K threats," Psaki said, adding that there is "concern" about these potential charter flights and "where these flights go," as ISIS has a "keen interest" in aviation targets.
