Will this be the storm that brings down New Orleans for good?

Prove me wrong with facts and links. You're going to regret riding out a Cat 4.

When Katrina made landfall it was in Buras, LA. The weather service painted a grim picture of NO because the levees broke here. Lower Plaquimines Parish was hit the hardest and Katrina moved directly towards Gulfport, MS where the storm surge was the worst. I spent eight months adjusting claims down there. Had the levees not failed, we’d would be talking about MS. Fact.Look it up.

I’m not going to evacuate. Dumb, but I don’t care.

So rescue people can risk life and limb trying to save them.

Because they are poor due to all the white supremacy and cannot manage to get on a free bus ride when it is offered.....

Definitely worth it. For the food and the WWII museum alone, if nothing else.

Had to fly in there every week for over a year and never made it to the WWII museum. If I ever go back there, I will make that point. If ever in KC the WWI museum is pretty cool.

The food itself, meh. Yeah, you can go to nicer places and get decent food, but the general food joints you pop into, nothing much. Poboys are probably the most overrated food item that any city is known for. And I tried more than a few places. I would rather grab a sub sandwich from Jersey Mikes if it came down to it.

I'd eat jambalaya, gumbo and etoufee every day. I love the random hole in the wall Cajun food, more than the high end places even.

Well, he is grateful that it will help keep his debacle at the border off the headlines for a little while. :dunno:

Bunny serious it's on the news worst hurricane since 1850's! I know you won't listen but get the F out now!

Not even close my friends. Gtfo? Friends of mine left at ten this morning and still have not made it to Texas yet on I-10. Ida ho can’t kill me.

I’m in a high area close to the river in Jefferson parish. Those close to the coast should be worried if they stayed. Lived here for 52 years and have weathered all storms without relying on anyone. I would never put ES on the response if I didn’t believe what I know after all these years.

The whole category system is bullchit.  Category is based upon wind speed, not rainfall, nor storm surge. Which is why it's such total bullchit.

Storm surge is a product of wind speed, but it needs to hit in just the right spot to push water into the city.

Looks like landfall is just east of NO.  Worse case scenario for storm surge?
