Music: what’s your guilty pleasure?

Recommended Posts

Something you listen to that your friends or family don’t know you listen to…like maybe you secretly listen to Celine Dion or Michael Bolton.

Mine is Doja Cat.  She’s ultra-dirty but also quite funny and sneaky creative.  There’s a distinction between her stuff and the crap from Cardi B or whomever.  She’s got a creative flair.  Evidence is her song “Won’t Bite”

What do you secretly listen to when no one else is around?

Yeah I like her. I’m 52 and love rap. Grew up with it and love it. Kids and wife hate it.

Early morning - Mozart, Bach, Salieri, etc... romantic classical styles with a coffee and on-line chess. Beethoven can go f*ck himself with his overly dramatic crap.

60's & 70's reggae.  All of the hidden gems/one hit wonders.

It's my happy music.

My friends & I were all about AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, etc, back in the late 80s.

I could never let them know that I also liked new wave, especially where synthesizers were used heavily. I even bought a couple cheap ones, didn't have the money for a Moog back then.

I think I'm gonna buy one.

As I've matured, my tastes have grown more towards 60s/70s/80s rock.

But I'd be lying if I said I didn't still enjoy some of the women of a late 90s/early 00s. Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette, Gwen Stefani & No Doubt, Jewel, Sarah McLachlan.

A band called Maneskin. "I wanna be your slave"

Not exactly the normal country music I listen to. But for some reason, I love this song. I might've caught either Delta, or the ghey?

There are some songs from musicals I really like.  Hamilton, Sweeney Todd and Jesus Christ Superstar are just a few musicals that I like.
