No, Barron was just a kid when they went after him.  I think "kids" should be off limits. If they are not allowed to drink alcohol, then they are a kid.

Other than that, have at it people.

So do people just get a check for $10k or do they just apply it to the principal of the loan?

If you're just sending them checks then they can use it for whatever they want; many won't put it towards their loans.

It sounded like they just apply it to the loan.

Then why do you let people vote at 18 if they’re just kids.

That's a big mistake. People should only be allowed to vote if they have supported themselves for the previous 5+ years. This goes for married women too.

I was just giving you a hard time. They change voting to 18 during the Vietnam war because they were drafting kids under 21.

and I agree with you.

Biden Officials Could Be Getting a Huge Raise Through Student Loan Forgiveness Executive Order

https://www.insidebidensbasement.org/article/biden-officials-could-be-getting-a-huge-raise-through-student-loan-forgiveness-executive-order

News reports indicate that President Biden intends to release details of a long-discussed plan to forgive student loans, including for many high-ranking political appointees serving in his administration. Whether or not speculation holds over a $10,000 forgiveness for individuals earning up to $125,000 annually, there are certain to be winners who are in senior policy making positions for President Biden. This will amount to a raise for his closest allies and aides, some of whom may have even participated in crafting the policy.

The losers are sure to be the American public, many of whom never went to college, worked and saved to avoid having to take out loans, or have already paid off their loans. With elections around the corner and record-high inflation caused in part by the administration’s policies, the timing is consistent with concerns that politics are driving policy, rather than sound principles.

Given the activist-oriented nature of the President’s appointees and the consistent theme of the special interests benefiting from Biden policies, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that hundreds of Biden political appointees lurking Inside Biden’s Basement could be set to benefit from this new student loan forgiveness policy. The result? You will have to pay their loans so they are free to buy their next electric vehicle.

Based on the data we have compiled, at least 223 high-ranking Biden appointees still have outstanding loans totaling anywhere between $12.6 million and $31.2 million. The four agencies and offices most likely involved in formulating this policy (Education, Treasury, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the White House) also have numerous political appointees who could potentially benefit based on their own public financial disclosures. The total outstanding student loans for appointees in each:

  • White House: $3,015,091 to $7,425,000
  • CFPB: $230,004 to $600,000
  • Treasury: $170,007 to $415,000
  • Education: $125,006 to $350,000

As we are still in the midst of tracking down data for many of the appointees hiding Inside Biden’s Basement, this list is surely just the tip of the iceberg of potential beneficiaries waiting to hand a fat bill to the American taxpayer. Check out the table here to see who else Inside Biden’s Basement you and your kids may be paying off college loans for!

Biden is calling out his critics who got millions in loan forgiveness…

That’s just 2… there are more on the White House Twitter account. Crazy for them to call out $20K in forgiveness for Pell grant recipients when they got 100x that much.

FLASHBACK: Pelosi Said Biden Doesn’t Have Power To Cancel Student Debt. Now Calls Move ‘Bold’

https://dailycaller.com/2022/08/25/nancy-pelosi-said-joe-biden-doesnt-have-power-cancel-student-debt-now-calls-move-bold/

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi called President Joe Biden’s announcement to cancel up to $20,000 in student debt for certain borrowers “bold” despite saying last year Biden lacked the authority to do so.

Biden announced Wednesday he would be canceling up to $20,000 in student debt for Pell Grant recipients while canceling up to $10,000 in student loans for those making under $125,000 a year.

A report by the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business found the move to cancel student debt could cost taxpayers more than $300 billion over the next ten years.

“POTUS’ bold action is a strong step in Democrats’ fight to expand access to higher education,” Pelosi tweeted Wednesday. “By delivering historic targeted student debt relief to millions of borrowers, more working families will be able to meet their kitchen table needs as they recover from the pandemic.” (RELATED: ‘Who Is Paying For This?’: Doocy Hammers Jean-Pierre On Student Loan Forgiveness)

— Nancy Pelosi (@SpeakerPelosi) August 24, 2022

Pelosi’s comments are a change of tune from remarks made in July 2021 when she said Biden had no authority to cancel student debt.

“People think that the President of the United States has the power for debt forgiveness. He does not.”

FLASHBACK to April:

Pelosi: “People think that the President of the United States has the power for debt forgiveness. He does not.” pic.twitter.com/w3g9mAbFsb

— Daily Wire (@realDailyWire) August 24, 2022

“He can postpone. He can delay. But he does not have that power. That has to be an act of Congress. And I don’t even like to call it forgiveness because that implies a transgression. It’s not to be forgiven, just freeing people from those obligations.”

“The President can’t do it. So that’s not even a discussion. Not everybody realizes that. But the President can only postpone, delay, but not forgive.”

The Biden administration is relying on a post-9/11 law to cancel $10,000 in student debt. The “HEROES Act” was first proposed in 2003 and was intended for military members serving the U.S. in the wake of the deadly terrorist attacks. The Department of Education cited the “COVID-19 pandemic” as a reason Biden could use the HEROES Act to legally cancel student debt since the law allows for the modification of federal student loans in the midst of a “war or other military operation or national emergency.”

Yep. Even MSM is reporting on it.  It's in the second segment after the libtards eyes have rolled back in their heads. But still.

To get rid of the remain in Mexico policy the Biden admin said Covid was no longer a national emergency. To pay off the student loan they say it is. Some of you voted for this.  You shouldn’t vote anymore. Just stay out of it.

Yup. But again, the really bad ideas are on the left. I have surrendered to the fact that these focks will always get paid, on both sides. But can you at least keep the borders   secure and put violent bad guys in jail? And leave the kids alone at school? I’m not asking for much.

An example of leftist lunacy: while fentanyl is killing people by the thousands in our country, while crime is rising all over NY state, since November you have to be 21 to buy whipped cream in NY. Whippets are a huge problem. But they want to legalize heroin.

Also suffered isn't the right word here. Maybe inconvenienced while paying back the loan, but "suffered" totally invalidates the argument..

Conversations evolve. Do you ever have any IRL with people who don’t agree with everything you say? We were talking about both sides of the political spectrum. If you don’t like it, feel free to pass over it. Fockin hall monitor.

Lmao.  Suffered.  When you have a choice it isn't suffering.

If I buy a house that is out of my league and a year in can't keep up with my mortgage....should my loans get "forgiven"?

Democrats.  The party that doesn't believe in personal responsibility.

Politicians got a break?  Ya don't say.

Conservative voters aren't running around calling paying back a loan you signed up for as "suffering".

Those politicians shouldn't have gotten anything forgiven either.

$300 billiion in irresponsible spending? Nope. As expected it's not even close. Does Biden ever know what the f*ck is going on?

The $24 billion a year estimate is under the nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget’s analysis released Thursday that the program will cost between $440 and $600 billion, settling on a central estimate of approximately $500 billion.

Earlier Thursday, she ( the press secretary) admitted that the Biden administration isn’t yet sure of the cost and said it would depend heavily on borrowers and how many of the loans were expected to be repaid.

This.  You don’t just “forgive” a loan as if it magically goes away. :poof:  Somebody is now incurring that expense.  That somebody is Jim and Jen Taxpayer.

Guess who now is NOT?  The university, with their billion dollar endowments or the original borrower who spent the money.
