Crazy how student loan debt wasn't a major issue until the Dept of Education took over the process.

Crazy how fast you can move the goalposts when the factual answer to your question doesn’t fit your narrative.

Blue 's Shoes is posting from the dementia ward. If you find yourself agreeing with him, it might be time to get your head examined.

Why don't you just say, "My vagina hurts." That would get your point across much less cryptically.

Which of these claims do you disagree with?

Will not survive judicial scrutiny

The major intent in to try to energize young voters for the DNC

BUT the flip side is this will cost as many voters the other way, maybe even more, who don't want their tax dollars being spent to prop up the DNC's Big Education cronies. So what's the motive?

So what were the "longstanding failures in the student loan programs" prior to Obama federalizing them? You can clearly recognize a turning point can't you?

I have zero faith in anyone who thinks student loan forgiveness was the proper way to tackle the true issue or that this was anything more than a blatant vote grab.

I'm a conservative and I paid off my school loans. Took me a little while but paid in full. I never looked for a handout or whined about them.

Why can't liberals pay theirs off?

You needed a loan for Devry?

Clown him all you want on this. It was a crafty political maneuver. Clearly people bought into it.

Yeah. And it was worth every penny. Cause now I'm doing great financially. Probably will retire in my 50s. Happily.

Biden administration forgives $39 billion in student loan debt to more than 800,000 borrowers

The U.S. Department of Education announced Friday it "will begin notifying more than 804,000 borrowers that they have a total of $39 billion in Federal student loans that will be automatically discharged in the coming weeks."

I’m glad they found a way to help people out. The Supremes blocked one path to debt relief, but the administration is finding others.

I'm betting that if I was stupid like those borrowers, and I took out $100,000 in loans and didn't want to pay it back, you would say "too bad".

Yeah, those college graduates never get enough help.....I am sure the folks living on the street or in urban hell holes are so happy for these spoiled children.....

But hey, if you are intent to buy votes, I cannot fault them for doing this.  Its good strategy.  Its not a dramatic amount, and it should not be too harmful to economic factors, but this likely ensures at least two more hikes from the fed.

This is a good point. To get inflation down fewer dollars chasing the same goods... aka people need to struggle a little bit.

This plan frees up money to people not struggling which in turn prolong inflation/suffering of the poverty class.

That’s a silly argument because it also means we don’t have money for defense, for the border, for Social Security, for anything. If you want to make that argument then don’t simply pick on expenditures you don’t personally happen to approve of.

You understand that this would be a 'new' expenditure, correct?
