It pretty much is.

You see, the problem with you progerssives is that YOU brought all of this front and center and shoved in people's faces.  And when they react, you get all indignant and say, "OMG!  Why are you so focused on it!"

You're full of sh#t, Tim, and you know it.  People wouldn't be up in arms if your side wasn't pushing this as hard as they are.  You don't get to act like Bolsheviks and not get called out on it.  You'll get pushback EVERY step of the way until the fake problem that YOU created is gone.

It seems to me that this brouhaha reveals the true attitude of conservatives these days regarding transgender issues: forget about the bogus “we don’t care, just don’t bother our children” line. They DO care. They’re hostile to trans people, and fear them.

And liberals are hostile, and actually dangerous, towards Christians. It goes beyond attitude. But violence has been condoned and normalized by the left.

Extremely ironic charge given what is consistently written about trans people in this forum.

I can't speak for all conservatives but I don't GAF. I'm not hostile to nor fearful of trannies. I think they're mentally disturbed and often times depraved but I'm not afraid of them.

We all get one crack at life. IDGAF what you choose to do with your's as long as you don't fock with little kids, old people or animals. Other than that knock yourself out. Just leave me the fock alone.

What’s said about trans people , the ones that aren’t monsters slaughtering kids, is that they are mentally ill. The negative comments are by and large directed at enablers and the ones that think it’s ok to push this agenda on kids and for kids to have life altering sex change operations and procedures.

They need treatment and sympathy. They shouldn’t be celebrated.

I don’t believe you. If a company supported causes you like you’d have no problem with it.

I would have bought it.

I'll generally support companies I know aren't woke and avoid those that are. Whenever possible, I also prefer to go to family owned restaurants or to get my hair cut or whatever else from small independent operators rather than from corporate outlets.

I don`t know anyone who fears trannys. What people are saying is they don`t need to have others sexual preferences put on beer cans or cereal boxes.

Much of the stuff I read has to do with men competing against women that gives trannys a bad name.  It is biologically unfair to real women.

Whatever trans men think they are they are not born with a vagina, uterus and wider hip structure to have babies.  That is a biological science fact.

Exactly. They need help. Using them as fodder for political points isn't helping them.

They don't really care about them. All one needs to do is look at David Hogg and how he was used up like a hooker on prom night and they threw him aside when he was no longer useful.

Looks like AB knows.  Quick, someone put up a tik tok of some idiot saying it’s no big deal. Actions say different.  We’ll see. But it most likely will never be what it was. Once people move on it’s hard to get them back. Molson and Coors are doing better than before. Looks like that’s where the Bud drinkers went.

Saw a Coors commercial this weekend.  A man gets home, grabs a beer, puts a game on his laptop, and slides into a bath with candles to watch it.  Pretty gay if you ask me.

I might have gone with brewhaha since this is about beer.  Or maybe this is about transvestites.

On March 31st- Anheuser Busch closed at 66.72 per share. Then Mulvaney happened. Conservatives lost their mind. Snowflakes started shooting beer cans and saying "NOT MAH LITE BEER!!" Articles were written saying "5 billion in market cap lost)...People pushed back thinking they had to protect LGBTQ and calling people hate filled and all that.

Meanwhile- in the stock world Anheuser Busch is in pre-trading today at 65.90 per share. That means that roughly their market cap on March 31st was 116,092,800,000. Their market cap once the day opens will be 114,666,000,000. That is a difference now of 1,426,800,000

So it looks like the outrage on this lasted about 3 weeks as Anheuser Busch has pretty much almost closed the gap back to where they were. It should also be noted too that last year at this time they were trading at 59.56 a share so they are up ~11 billion in market cap this year. Three years ago (of course about 6 weeks into the pandemic) they were trading at 41.91 per share. So their market cap over the 3 year window is up about 42 billion.

Just a simple reminder- the market ebbs and flows and does not kowtow to the whims of angry mobs of people on the Internet. Money is money to Wall Street.

The most drank beer in my area is Busch Light and Bud Light.  I have yet to hear of anyone boycotting InBev products here.  There have been plenty of jokes told but no one seems to care, because it's all so stupid.

I switched from Bud Light to Hard Seltzer some 3 years ago. I did that because I am gay, not because of a spokesperson being gay

I see the person that came up with the add campaign has been replaced and is taking a "leave of absence".  That pretty much sums up the issue.

Perhaps Bud can make her a commemorative case of cans for her.  It could have her picture on it and a pink slip.  would be a classy way of firing her.  i hope when i get fired it is with a case of commemorative cans.

Smart business move. Sense trouble "brewing" and nip it in the "Bud"

AB moved swiftly and ended the campaign, it will pass fast and be business as usual.

AB reports sales on 5/4/03 for the first quarter, Jan-March, before the brew ha ha. We won’t know for a while, until summer, the actual affect. I’d lay off any claims for now from both sides.

Yeah but they only recovered because they made the person responsible go away, duh! (even though she will most likely be coming back)

I doubt she will get fired for making a blunder and agree she will probably return in a different role to prevent a lawsuit, but the campaign won`t.

Ok I see you’re referring to someone named Daniel Blake that was the VP for Bud and Bud Light.  Sorry I was wrong, I assumed she reported to the CMO but guess there was another level in there

More likely she retires/leaves to "pursue other interests".  Corporate speak for, you focked up and you're fired but because you are executive we will let you retire so you can keep your deferred comp.

I'm not sure she can sue for anything.   She is/was the VP of marketing, and this move has very likely hurt AB.  Then their silly apology with the clysdales and 9/11 references doubled down on stupidity.   As the VP, it is/was her job to enhance the brand, not hit it like she did.  AND---if the top brass did not know about this plan(which is likely) then that was even worse.  Accountability for these roles.  She blew the play and is paying for it.  In corporate america, especially at that level, this is exactly what should happen.  I can't see grounds for a suit here.

You may be correct as her decision caused problems for the company. The buck stop with her.

Forgetting, briefly, that Bud Light decided to take a massively polarizing issue and ramp it up like they did.  This really should send a message to corporate America to stay out of political debates when marketing their product.   Did Bud light really need to use him to sell beer?  No..not at all.   Sell how good it tastes(even though it doesn't), sell how reasonably priced it is.   Going political is just a dumb dumb thing to do for a product like this.   Trannies weren't barred or afraid to buy Bud Light before this ad right?   Was there some sort of need to make sure they can also grab a cold one from their local vendor?  No.  It was just dumb.   And that's why she should be fired.   That's not a good marketing strategy for a commodity like this.  For most commodities actually.   To me, as her boss, that shows me she does not understand the company, the product,  or the marketplace.   Bad things for your VP of marketing IMO.
