Recommended Posts

Will clean the house during the day and take the kids to firewalks in the evening. I am going to need to recover from the weekend, and the 4th will be it.

To fawking hot go anywhere so I’m going to buy a baby pool and fifteen bags of ice, and fill it up. BBQ and make my creole Mac&Cheese. Might make homemade ice cream the old fashion way. Ice cold beer stocked. Put my Speedo on and enjoy my beautiful yard and deck with the Rs. And listen to some base ball. Hopefully shoot some fireworks in her and then watch the show on the river.

Planning to go to the Mets/DBacks game, then climb the mountain by our house with some adult beverages to catch fireworks in the evening

I will be in Europe (where I am now) on vacation. I’m happy to be away currently from the USA as repression is in the air, brought to us by the conservative Supreme Court and the various conservative state legislatures. Maybe the glorious 4th of July will remind these folks what America and freedom are really supposed to be about. I hope so but I doubt it. See you guys when I get back.

We been talking about it for a while. SD just graduated and moved out and I don’t need to be in the office more than 1-2 a week so my area of tolerable commute has expanded. Still honing in on a town but we may go rural. We’d like some land and quiet.

Good point.  America is about screwing over Asians, paying people for useless college majors, and making people create what the State wants them to.

Now let's get back to celebrating the 4th.

Neighborhood barbecue in the evening.

I'm probably going to work tomorrow and use the holiday hours on Friday for when we go to our house on the coast.  This flexibility is one of the many benefits of working from home.

If you’re in Georgia, you should do it. Most people walk or lightly jog. If you can walk a mile, you can walk 6 miles.

It's on my road-race bucket list. I just love the atmosphere at those big events. Good luck!

We're flying into Milwaukee tomorrow. We'll check into the hotel and then go watch a Brewers home game. On Wednesday we'll take a train down to Chicago and spend the rest of our time there. We're going to two concerts and a White Sox game. Wish the Cubs were at home, too. We're trying to see a game at every MLB stadium. We have a long way to go.

Have you been to T-mobile Park (formerly Safeco Field) in Seattle yet?   So glad they blew up the Kingdome and built Safeco.

Nice thing about Safeco is you can watch the game from the concourse as you're walking around to get food and drinks so you don't miss anything.

I'll often get cheapest CF rickets and then watch a few innings from different points in the ballpark.  Over the bullpens, behind home plate, etc.

Edit: there's also a beer garden area behind left/center field called The 'Pen (next to bullpen, duh).  There's also a beer patio above the mechanical scoreboard in near 3rd base line in left field.  Cool to watch the dude switch out the metal plates to update runs/hits/etc.

When I was there the ushers wouldn’t allow you to your seat until the at bat was over. Do they still do that?

Yes, but that's just common courtesy.

If I'm warching the game I don't want to have to miss anything because kids are returning to their seats with their Dipping Dots.

Not a big deal since you can watch the at bat from top of the stairs.

Oh I’m not complaining. It was a good thing. I could only imagine what it would be like if they tried that at Yankee Stadium.

This is good to know. My wife's sister and her husband are moving to Seattle, so we'll definitely be visiting there.

When we saw a Yankees game, we sat in centerfield with the riff raff, and I wouldn't have it any other way. They were energetic, fun and hilarious. I'm an Astros fan and wouldn't have dared wear any of that there, but some poor bastage did and got soaked with beer.

It was fun riding back on the subway and hearing the fans jabbering with each other.

Great, memorable experience. I can't imagine what it would be like to see a Red Sox game in Yankee stadium. I imagine there are a few fights.
