I think a cast iron is most versatile.

my favorites are my food processor and sauté pans

Skillet is the obvious answer.  Lots of other cool things to use but a skillet is extremely functional and without one your cooking will be quite limited.

Tough one, I've been using my 36" Blackstone quite a bit lately. It's very versatile. But I don't use it for pizza and can't cook a turkey for Thanksgiving on it. So I gotta go with the grill. Plus the grill has the side burner. I'd hate to give up that Blackstone, though.

That's a cooking utensil. It doesn't do the cooking, it just holds what is being cooked while it cooks.

But yes, a good cast iron skillet is mandatory.

The model I have also washes dishes and gives back rubs.

Way too pricy.

There's nothing I haven't been able to cook with my old George Foreman grill. Did a 23 lb turkey last thanksgiving.

Scrambled eggs

You can scramble eggs on a frying pan placed on a grill. I’ve done this camping. Unless the pan counts as another “cooking device.”

Sure with a griddle attachment.  What else can we add?  Pots, pans?  If so then you can make pasta, stews, soups, etc.

The ONE DEVICE is ambiguous.

I think it does.  I've made scrambled eggs on an open fire camping using aluminum foil.  I aluminum foil is included then yeah you can pretty much make anything.

Sure, use a pan on top the grill.  Are you saying no pan or spatula's are allowed?

Edit - I see others questions Gutter's idiocy already.  :)

"Cooking device" was not defined by the OP. So who knows?

I see "cooking device" as the thing the creates the heat to cook.

Using your rules, then the heat source doesn't matter.  Grill, oven, stove, fire, etc.

Also you can't smoke on a grill, unless of course it's charcoal, or you have wood chips and a smoker box, which I'm sure you included, along with smart phone for doordashing as well.

So those who chose cast iron skillet don't get a stove to use with it?

How fast IRL would you walk away from Gutterboy if he was having a conversation like he does here?

If you don't want to participate, then you simply close the thread.  You don't post and cry about it.

Tedious.  And he’s the one that whines about people taking things too literal.
