As a Steelers fan I would kill to have Brock Purdy as my QB

do the steelers have Mac daddy, Deeblow, Ayiuk and Kittle?

Purdy has been great but I think most NFL quarterbacks would thrive in that system, with that surrounding cast. SF is on a whole other level right now. They whipped Philly on both sides of the ball.

He and the Niners are playing unbelievably well. Lynch or whoever drafts for them has built a squad and then they somehow fleece teams every year at the trade deadline.

The 49’rs are in the best spot possible. Stout defense, top notch running game, excellent coach and best of all, a cheap QB.  Reminds me of another team that dominated for a very long time.

Purdy is way better than Jimmy G. I didn't love him coming into the season but he's perfect for that system.

It'll be interesting to see who's in the conversation for this week, other than Purdy.

Nothing has changed for me, and I don't see how it will by seasons end.  If Houston gets a wildcard spot, McCaffrey is #1 and Stroud is #2... if Houston wins the division, then Stroud is #1 and McCaffrey is #2.

San Fran is so good, nearly brought Alex Smiff to a super bowl and krapernick to a super bowl

No way! Purdy threw 2, 3 yard bombs to Deebo last night!

Purdy is about to get pummeled and releases before aiyuk makes his cut, placing the ball between 4 seahawks.

He is playing at a very high level.  the 49ers are loaded with talent and have an excellent coach. so is philly. so are the cowboys (minus the coach).

i think stroud should be on top of the mvp list for what he is doing with the tools he's been given.  but if we are including hurts and dak, purdy needs to be mentioned as well

Well, the smart thing to do when blitzed is to get rid of the ball quickly.  But for some reason people want to criticize Purdy for doing  the smart thing and throwing quick hitters. Pretty funny coming from the same crew that thought Julian Edelman and Wes Welker were just fine when they were catching passes 5 yards downfield from that other guy.

Julian Edelman and Wes Welker are white and were nobodies until they met TB12. You think they could outrun anyone? Stop. All they had was quick hitters.

TB12 made his receivers. Purdy's receives make him.

On boy, another narrative destroyed. Haters are sick...

😭

Actually YAC often offer more credit to the QB rather than less. It usually indicates that the pass was perfectly thrown, which allows the receiver to catch it in stride and continue to move down the field. Whereas if a ball is not well thrown, and the receiver is forced to make a difficult grab, even if he catches it that usually ends up in a tackle.

I hate the Niners as much as anyone, but how can ya not root for "Mr. Irrelevant" ?  If he wins a SuperBowl, there'll be a movie after he retires.

From a football standpoint, he couldn't have landed on a better team. Good coach, great D and incredible offensive talent.

They already made the Kurt Warner movie. And he wasn’t even drafted.

Ho hum, just another MVP performance from Purdy. Old hat at this point.

:dunno:

I’d say he’s the front runner, but if Dak keeps it up it will be close.

Nice to see him throw it past 10 yards in the air :first:

How did he play again when Deebo was hurt?

He's the QB for the best team in football and looks good out there. Everybody else wishes they could get QB play this good at this salary level.

I’d take it for the 40 mil the Giants are paying.
