seafoam1 3,017 Posted December 11, 2023 So their comeback TD play got called back and Andy Reid calls it an embarrassment on the league. What does he want? Should the refs stop calling penalties in the last few minutes of a game? If d-lineman jumped offside and the pass was incomplete, would the Chiefs have accepted the penalty?
RLLD 4,230 Posted December 11, 2023 Andy and his QB were really cheesed off to be sure. I mean, in a sense I get it.....some of these games end with the Chiefs being the beneficiary of a call to win it....and they were both probably unaccustomed to not having that be the norm. 2

In the last few minutes of the Packer game, before the Chiefs got royally screwed on a call, the Chiefs accepted a questionable pass interference penalty, an off sides on a kick off penalty, and a clearly wrong roughing penalty. They also benefitted from a non-call of pass interference which was the very same action upon which they did get a call, what was a penalty for the Chiefs was not one for the Packers. Penalties happen. Calls are made. Calls are missed. Some calls are clearly wrong. Often the penalty action is away from the play or did not impact the play in any way. I get it though, during the final minutes they always seem amplified. I will say tnis, on the day that Franck Wycheck passed away it would have been cool to have another miracle Tight End toss
Hardcore troubadour 15,414 Posted December 11, 2023 They lost a playoff game to the pats because one of their guys was offsides negating a turnover. Perhaps they ought to work on staying on sides? 3

Mahomes, Reid and Kelce went over the top ballistic. If they are going to complain about these calls, then they better come up with a solution of when and what calls shouldn't be called. Else, keep their traps shut. They don't have any solution, they can't say don't call a penalty that was obviously a penalty, no matter what time of game it was. DonS 3,292 Posted December 11, 2023 Frustrating calls / no calls happen all the time, but when it is clearly legit then shut your pie hole. Case in point. Near the end of the game Bills got flagged for offensive holding which negated a first down. I was of course pissed. When they showed the replay of the LT basically doing a reverse horse collar on the rusher I just texted my friends "yeah that's legit " That's why Reid and Mahomes look like such whiny twats in this case. Guess they're no better than his b1tch wife tweeting about the refs now.

I'm not making excuses, and to be honest I'm just a fan, so who cares. But let the games be determined by the play on the field, not by questionable judgment calls (or lack thereof). It seems to be happening more and more lately where the guys in stripes are having a determining influence on the outcome of games. And by no means am I saying it's lopsided to favor any one team over another. They just blow, a lot (of calls).

Tree of Knowledge 1,855 Posted December 11, 2023 Anyone that watched the AFC Title Game last year scoffs at their complaints. That being said, he was offsides and the flag was thrown before the TD. There have been many egregious calls this year. This wasn’t one.

seafoam1 3,017 Posted December 11, 2023 This isn't whining about questionable or phantom calls, it was cut and dry a penalty. The only thing they can offer up now is to say that some penalties should not be called at certain times of the game (against them). And that makes no sense. It's a penalty or it's not. If that pass had been incomplete, nobody would care. Just because they made a crazy play does not factor into the decision to call it or pick up the flag or not. listen2me 23 1,873 Posted December 11, 2023 Then I see Mahomes say Kelce was robbed of a legendary play. If a defender jumps offsides and goes and sack fumbles Mahomes would that be robbed too? If they then say thr defender jumped? I get the heat of the moment. But then hr and Reid doubled down an hour later at the presser. Delusional

Since I've been watching the NFL, every player that is on the field is a factor in the play. Even if you just spread out wide to pull a defender away from where the ball is going is factoring in the play.

Hardcore troubadour 15,414 Posted December 11, 2023 And what a punk move out of Mahomes when he shook Allen’s hand, poked him in the chest and said horrible call. And I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone bich like these babies about the right call. Especially Reid. I guess if it didn’t get called and the booth showed how offsides Young Joka was Bills fans should just accept it. Fock these guys. I hope Denver wins that division.
