Yeah, it's ridiculous. Just trying to find the games are hard, who's playing, what channel, where to find it, etc.

The NFL sold their soul.

Agreed!

The NFL is getting paid to partner with Amazon and the like. The fans get screwed by having to fork out additional cash to watch TNF or whatever. Or pirate it somehow.

I don’t disagree, but who doesn’t have Amazon? Sh!t, they even accept welfare and WIC cards for payment at a fraction of the price. A lot of cable packages don't have NFLN either.
I completely agree about Peacock and other obscure platforms.

Yes, it’s gotten ridiculous and the NFL has sold out.

Sold out?  That's capitalism baby!

You want a hand out from the NFL?  You want a lower salary cap?  Owner tax to redistribute to viewers? GTFO

There is a playoff game this year on Peac0ck.  A fockin playoff game.  It's ridiculous.  I'm an hour away from KC in a town of 80k with our own CBS and FOX affiliates.  Those broadcast affiliates won't pay for the Chiefs in a playoff game.  If something like that happens, this town might burn down the local news station.

Every sporting event on the planet is available to stream on a certain site for free.

I was a loyal customer with direct tv and the ticket forever.   Since I was basically kid.  One day a few years ago I went ape on Direct TV doing the run around and said F this.

I do have my mothers prime account.  I have youtubetv now.  But I will stream games on the internet that I want to watch that are not on (mostly Packers).  Screw em.

I wonder if they make it easier for the European or Mexican public to watch the games when they are played in those markets.  We're paying for everything else anyway.

I just looked.  There is no $5/mo plan.   And their cheapest plan lets you pay them for the privilege of watching shows WITH commercials.  Even their most expensive plan isn't ad free.  Only a Choad like you would pay to watch commercials.

I will.  All the old, die-hard local team fans who don't have smart TVs and little tech savvy are the ones who suffer.

The trend that's disturbing is that it's becoming more and more obvious the NFL cares less about their fan base and customer than they do the bottom line.

It's not just the NFL.  NASCAR just signed a deal which puts the cup series on FOX, NBC, Warner Bros/Discovery, AND Amazon.  Five races will only be available via streaming from Amazon Prime.  And I get Amazon Prime but there's a good chance I won't watch those five races because I like to DVR them and watch later.  But just having to figure out which race is available where is ridiculous.  Clearly they aren't thinking about the fans when they put these deals together.

It’s annoying but I can definitely live without watching Bills - Chargers. As long as I get in market games I’m good.

In 20 years there will be NFL football on every day of the week on PPV and streaming services. Old guys like me will complain but the league is printing $.

I have Peacock and hardly watch it and will get my $5 bucks worth this month. I agree with the OP about these exclusive streaming and Prime Thursday stream are always messing up for me. I thought it was cool that MNF was on ABC this season as well. The real question is who in the heck is scheduling The Bum Chargers for all these Prime Time Games ?

i actually get more annoyed by the spread of games / time slots. i dont have prime because i have no need for it. my amazon orders always meet free shipping and arrive in a day or two. i still have peacock somehow from before i cut cable.

either way, i just use the website i use to watch all my Rays games. deal with some initial popups but otherwise works perfectly fine. cast it to whatever device I want to watch on.

all the cable cutting led to all these platforms which will eventually lead to them bundling up which will eventually lead to us all having a new form of cable again anyway.

Even if you don't have Prime you can watch on Twitch for free.

NASCAR and other leagues are doing the same thing

You can sign up for a Peacock Premium plan at $5.99 a month (+tax) or $59.99 per year (+tax).

Earlier this year I discovered I could get Peacock for free via Comcast.

Only thing we've watched on it has been Yellowstone.  Haven't turned it on since we finished all the seasons.

Uh, no.  Apparently you can't math so good.

If you're gonna try and say its 5.99 and not 5 then you're a doosh.  And then I'll just say $60/12=5.  Either way you're a choad gargling f@ck toilet.

We also get a game in Brazil next year.

A five-game overseas slate is on tap for 2024, but the NFL is considering a major increase in foreign contests soon after. As many as nine international games could be on the 2025 docket, Rapoport adds. This will include eight dates plus the Jaguars’ agreement to play a London game each year.

Enjoy!

Good to know, thanks!

So these media outlets are paying leagues to help expand their viewership by purchasing exclusivity for certain games. The leagues are forcing their fans to pay these outlets, that they otherwise wouldn't spend their hard earned money on, to be able to see the sports and/or teams they want to watch.

The leagues make money, the media outlets make money and the fans get hosed.

As a fan, I feel it is my obligation to boycott those games/races/etc or find a way to pirate them. When the leagues see their viewership diminish considerably for those particular broadcasts, mebbe they'll start to reconsider what's best for their fans.

A yearly rate is not monthly.  And 17% is not an insignificant error.  You should just admit you were wrong and move on.

I don't even know if i have Peacock or not. I have Amazon Prime & Netflix but never seen Peacock.

Sign up for the free trial and cancel it once the seasons over.

I signed up for FUBO last week to get the NFL channel games and then canceled. They know a lot do that and don't care.

What I mentioned earlier what is up with MNF being on ABC again like it used to be ? Kinda the opposite of what the OP point was with the streaming services having exclusive games.

If we're doing 17 game season, I wouldn't be so opposed to 1 game for each team being held in a neutral location, honestly.

Nfl has been screwed up for a very long time, I’m glad to see that the OP is catching up.
