I can’t believe it. Annoying as hell at times but I loved him.

Why can’t you believe it, do people never die in your little world?

To answer your question: the reason I can’t believe it is because he was so vibrant and youthful and full of energy even at 71. Cancer is the worst.

Also- you are by far the most annoying poster in this forum. And it’s not even especially close.

  • Thanks 5

Of course you think that, i am a Christian, it’s just another attack of your father satan.  I have on the Armor of God.  I’m safely going to God’s Kingdom.

Amen.

Thanks.

Heard that this morning, sad.  We got to see a lot of Walton with Dave Pasch for Pac-12 basketball (Pasch is one of my favorite play by play guys, does the Cards football and a bunch of other stuff).

RIP Bill.  :(

Saw him riding a bike a once in Balboa Park, SD. Was quite a sight.

He was great in interviews and a very interesting guy to listen to. Games he did could be a bit rough but he always seemed very happy and positive.

RIP

Lol, this is an awesome microcosm of the victim mentality.

Run around being annoying constantly and then when someone says you're annoying, claim it's because you're whatever class you want to claim is being discriminated against.

RIP

He wasn't afraid to say what he believed, damn the costs. A true American.  🙏

That’s right, no one should ever stand down for what they believe in.  Freedom of speech is great, but the next president will see to it that it’s taken from us, but let’s keep voting them in. Amen.

Thanks.

That’s the way it happens.  Often people don’t like people for the simplest of things, skin color, what country they are from, how they talk, look, size, success, Faith. People around this world die because others don’t like them just because. Stand down foolish one.

I think Bill Walton was a Buddhist.  If so, maybe he'll be re-incarnated as a grizzly bear and eat Weepaws for crapping all over his memorial thread here.  🙏

How about the supposed religious charlatan who uses gay slurs when people push back against his bastardization of the Bible to push his dogma and zealotry?   Those people too, right?

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung
Would you hear my voice come through the music?
Would you hold it near as it were your own?
It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken
Perhaps they're better left unsung
I don't know, don't really care
Let there be songs to fill the air
Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed
Nor wind to blow
Reach out your hand, if your cup be empty
If your cup is full, may it be again
Let it be known there is a fountain
That was not made by the hands of men
There is a road, no simple highway
Between the dawn and the dark of night
And if you go, no one may follow
That path is for your steps alone
Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed
Nor wind to blow
You who choose to lead must follow
But if you fall you fall alone
If you should stand then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home

Those who try to take on God’s role by pronouncing his judgement will be judged in the same way themselves.  We are free to judge the legality of another man’s actions, but not his righteousness.

I think Bill would have wanted me to have his priority backstage tickets to the rest of the run of Dead and company at the Sphere.  I wonder who I call about this.

Not even close. They weren’t even the best team of their time period. The Magic/Kareem/Worthy Lakers were better. The Dr J/Malone 76ers were better. And the Detroit Pistons Bad Boys might have been better.
And that’s just the 80s. The Celtics would have been blown away by the Bulls, the Shaq Lakers, Golden State, or any of the teams currently in the playoffs. Too big too fast.

Met him two summers ago at a business conference I was at.  Told great stories and very personable guy.  I'm a pretty tall guy and when I posted a photo with him on social media with him standing way over me that got a lot of comments.  What's sad is he was kind of stooped over even at that.  When he sat down, he used two stacked chairs to sit so that his knees had less strain.

No.....you are a mean spirited a$$clown. Your response to Tim's post shows that. Any time you have the opportunity to inject a kind & "Christian" response.....you choose to be mean & spiteful......I'm sure your god is pleased with that......

Terrible broadcaster, over-rated player, but from all accounts a truly great dude.  R.I.P.

Before injuries took his game he may have been the most complete center ever.  Granted the injuries took his game quite quickly.

Fair enough, but it was before my time, and that last sentence is where I'm at.  Sure, he was great, but for like 2 years.  Sorry, but in basketball, that doesn't cut it with me.

I fully understand.  Bob Lanier was another.  injuries to his knees and feet limited him quite quickly to only 25 minutes or so a game, yet in those limited miutes he put up numbers which were impressive for guys playing 35 to 40 minutes.  Still, he is not often tazlked about amoung the "greats".

I would definitely put Lanier ahead of Walton.

So that leaves just Roger Murdock, err, Kareem, alive...
