How the whole ground breaking thing was fake and Vegas is dying and they are the A's. Who would want this to happen at this point? From AI The move is considered highly controversial and has generated significant criticism, particularly towards Athletics owner John Fisher. While the team is officially on track to move to Las Vegas in 2028, the financial aspects and potential ongoing opposition mean that the situation remains somewhat fluid. Hawkeye21 2,421 Posted Tuesday at 03:13 PM It use to be an inexpensive trip, unless you lost a lot gambling. A bundled flight and hotel could be a great deal. No one wants to spend a bunch of money while knowing they are probably going to lose more gambling on top of that.

patweisers44 856 Posted Tuesday at 03:56 PM I go at least a couple times a year. My son is getting married out there in October. Flights are a little more expensive lately, but thats the same no matter where you are flying to. I dont pay for rooms or for a good chunk of my meals either. Admittedly, I do gamble quite a bit. Food is world class, pools and spas are nice if thats your thing, and the entertainment (@ all price levels) is top notch. People watching is great as well. I am an early riser (especially with adjusting to a three hour time change headed west and at least one day will be up and watching the partiers ending their days as mine is beginning. Think young chicks in short, tight dresses carrying their shoes and helping each other walk back to their room. Its not for everyone, but worth a trip every so often for anyone with at least half a pulse.

I haven't been in almost 15 years, but went a bunch in the aughts. It was never inexpensive. You could get some deals, sure, but I remember going in 2007 with just my wife for 3-4 days (by car so no airfare) and dropping a few grand while basically breaking even gambling (down about $200). Even back then tickets to a couple shows, a few nice meals, booze, and a helicopter/ limo ride racked up that tab. I've never seen cheap Vegas.

Paying to park AT the hotel you're staying at can be up to $50/night. Bottles of water are $15. Not to mention the price of food, events, cocktails, etc. It's no longer a place for families (not that it ever has been, but still).

My experience is that lodging, budget food, drinks, table limits, and comps have changed dramatically. our group had diverse interests. i am not a huge gambler, but would do a little here and there. i like the pools and restaurants, and when there with the mrs shows. I always accounted for food and shows to have a high cost (and would find discounts on shows now and then). over the past few years the lodging hike made me considered different destinations due to value. That's too bad. I want to go to The Sphere when there is an artist I want to go see. Haven't been interested in anything so far. I didn't give a shat about The Eagles when they were in their prime. I've got a free place to stay out there, with a guy who really knows Vegas and used to do bus tours as a living.
Bier Meister 1,732 Posted Tuesday at 08:15 PM i mean.. i didn't go crazy.. would stay at venetian/palazo, bellagio, mgm, mandalay bay. all were very reasonable imo. over the past few years it seems 1.5-2x the price. i would check to see if there were big events or conventions, but nothing unusual to drive the cost up. made more sense to go to carmel/monterrey/capitola or lake tahoe
