KSB2424 3,083 Posted August 26, 2015 4952 yards last year....and he was just getting warmed up to the offense and his new weapons. Antonio Brown, Martavius Bryant, Markus Wheaton, Health "safety valve" Miller. Not to mention great pass catching RB's like L.Bell and even D'Angelo. This preseason he is 14 for 17 for 159 Yards and 2 TD's in limited action. Just straight ballin'. I'm thinking multiple 400+ yard games. Historic offensive production. Getcha popcorn ready. tanatastic 2,061 Posted August 26, 2015 Back on earth, he most likely wont even match last years totals for either yardage nor tds. Go ahead and use all the math you want to debate, I just know football and its not all rosy like that every year. 4700

KSB2424 3,083 Posted August 26, 2015 The Steeler offense is trending upward. The NFL rules are trending to more passing each and every year. Big Ben is the prime age for a QB (historically speaking). 6K may be just a bit aggressive. Conservatively it's probably closer to 5700 - 5800. However I will stand by my original prediction. You would conservatively pick Big Ben to break Manning's single season yardage record by 200-300 yards? What's your ceiling, 8,000 yards and 70 TDs?

thegame7000 0 Posted August 26, 2015 BEST CASE SCENARIO FOR BEN: 3,400 yards and 26 tds Best case for LeVeon Bell: 2,500 yards and 27 tds...I'm talking LT/Faulk style, yo. I am assuming with this topic, that we're just throwing out ridiculous numbers, right?
Beyond Chaos 75 Posted August 26, 2015 Since Ben has thrown for 500 yards in a single game 2x in his career (I don't think anyone else has) and he had 2 back to back games of 6 TDs last year, that would give him 8000 yds and 96 TDs over 16 games.
nordwave 2 Posted August 26, 2015 So Antonio Brown will get 3,000+ receiving yards, right? Sounds plausible.

IMMensaMind 459 Posted August 26, 2015 I have Ben for 4350 yds + 25 TDs + 1 rushing TD this year. I think that's pretty good for the 6-8th QB off most boards - and it's why my strategy in all leagues this year will be Ben + someone with high upside as well. KSB2424 3,083 Posted August 27, 2015 Give me a break dude. Can't give you a break, but will give you a tip. Big Ben leads all QB's in fantasy points this year, wins the league MVP award, and throws for an NFL record number of yards. I'll be happy to update this thread as the season goes along. joeshushu 51 Posted August 27, 2015 I took Brees over him just a gut feeling even with Drew losing some weapons. Big Ben as tough as they come seems to get banged up during the year and that scares me.

svtballa 8 Posted August 27, 2015 Alright 6k is obviously not happening. But lets have a discussion. FF usually boils down to basic math, So lets shoot for the 5000 yard mark. That would be 312 yards over 16 games. Lets pencil Ben in for 4 350 yard games (he had 5 last year). Thats 1400 in 4 games. Meaning he needs to average 300yg over the next 12. Those numbers are concervititve. I think 4700+ is extremely dooable. Pardon the grammar im using my phone.

The offense was just starting to gel last year. We know what Antonio can do, Bryant is coming into his own as a big play (big chuncks of yardage) guy, and Wheaton is a talented guy in his 3rd year ready to contribute big time as well. Solid TE and great pass catching RB's. Last year was not the high watermark folks, it was a stepping stone. The pinnacle is upon us. #BR6K
jgcrawfish 232 Posted August 27, 2015 Ok, lets get back to reality. Roethlisberger just put up the 10th highest single season yardage total in NFL history this past season. Peyton Manning holds the all time record with 5477 yards. That's slightly less than 33 yd a game difference. Is that doable? Possibly, but not probable. The jump from 4952 to 6000 is a tad less than 66 yds a game, that's twice as much as the difference just to Peyton's average. Until the Pouncey injury things were set up nicely with a very potent offense and defense clearly in transition which could yield lots of points. I'm as big a believer in the weaponry around Ben, but even getting to Peyton's record-setting numbers are a stretch. He could break 5k this year, but isn't sniffing anything north of 5500. KSB2424 3,083 Posted August 27, 2015 Not without Martavis Bryant...and his impending 4 game suspension. Guess how many receptions, yards and TD's Martavis had last year in his first 6 games (let alone 4)? 0 rec for 0 yards for 0 TD's. And Big Ben still threw for 5000 yards (rounded). Does it sting a little? Maybe, I may have to adjust my prediction to 5,950.
