The Perfect Burger

Recommended Posts

You are done grilling a burger, what would you put on it if you had access to everything?

I stick by blue cheese, caramelized onions and bacon... You know a burger is perfection if it needs no condiments.

I would extend that sentiment to bacon as well.

Just give me the cheese (bleu or swiss) and carmelized onions.

JT has it correct, although I would go with cheddar, pepper jack or American for my cheese selection

caramelized onions (good call) and mushrooms sauted together, bacon, melt swiss cheese over top of things.

When grilling I have begun to stuff the burgers with blue cheese.

I like putting raw onions, guacamole, and raw pablano peppers on my burgers.

This is my answer too although I can do without the shrooms. I also like fried chilis and jalapeños with pepper jack cheese. And White Castle.

I am a bacon fiend, just not on a burger.

American cheese (the more solid stuff you get in the deli, not the Kraft sh1t), caramelized onions, shredded lettuce, and mayo.

New Yorker brand American cheese from your deli - head and shoulders above all others.

Lettuce, American, Cajun, A1 sauce. Pretty simple. If it's cooked right it doesn't need a lot of condom mints

I like a lot of flavor cominations, but my favorite is probably with crispy onions (thin, fried) and bernaise. sometime i make a bordelaise for them. love mushrooms, bacon, carmelized onions, bbq sauce, misc aiolis, truffles. when is was about 9 or 10 i used make oyster sauce burgers, teriyaki burgers with grilled pineapple, with tomato sauce and parm.... i started playing with my food early.

these days i either stuff burgers or mix ingredients into them. ie: dice bacon, crisp it. set aside. use bacon fat to saute minced mushrooms and onions. cool and add to ground meat with sliced or grated gouda.

I had my first burger with a fried egg on it this year. Over easy actually. I'd never heard of it or just never saw one. Looking forward to my next one.

I prefer it over easy as the burger cooks it when you bite into it.

I ate these drunk all through high school and early 20's. Nights out always ended at Gus's diner for a Bull burger.

Bacon cheeseburger with over easy egg on a kaiser roll. The egg would run through your fingers onto your fries on your plate. Mmmmmm.

Now a heart attack waiting to happen.

Pepper Jack Cheese, Anaheim Green Chili, Jalapeno,

+1

I like a chipotle mayo type thing on mine too. Lettuce on bottom to keep bun toasty.

Best burger I have ever had, classic ... The Corner Bistro in the West Village. If you get an order of fries, that is enough for two hungry men along with the Bistro Burger, which is pretty straight up. Beef, bacon, cheese. Served on a freshly toasted bun, and cooked to order. I like mine "medium" and I put mustard on it. Pretty sure that's the only option. You get ketchup for the fries ... but putting ketchup on a good burger is a sin.

Putting anything other than grilled Onions and cheese (maybe Bacon) on a good burger is just stupid! If the Burger is really good than it doesn't need Mustard or anything as that takes away from the burger

Absolutely DO NO believe in bacon on a burger.

Really think that shiit is overdone. Would you wrap a porterhouse in bacon?

Sounds great in the Rachel Ray Society, but actually focks shiit up.

I know right -- it's just a rinky dink little shack but damn theres a reason theres a huge line there. I live like 1 mile away so I eat from there a few times a month when it's open - closed in the winter... The Swiss Char burger with Grilled onions cannot be beat
