As for blackballed, not a chance. If a starting QB goes down in preseason and Kaep is better than the backups or any others available options, he'll get signed. Teams want to win.

Teams have gotten caught trying to seriously injure other human beings in an attempt to gain an edge. They deflate footballs. They wear spikes that are too big. They put illegal substances on their gloves. They get fined for piping in artificial crowd noise. Anything they think they can get away with in order to give them the upper hand. But someone seriously believes those same owners/coaches will have this pact with their competition to not sign a guy because he knelt for the national anthem? Think about the likelihood of that.
