I said it's short sighted and lazy when someone says something like "In a nutshell, the left tries to be accepted."......then goes on to explain the entire left in a nutshell. It would be the same as someone explaining the Right in a nutshell are just different variations of xenophobes. It isn't close to accurate either way, and it's just an attempt to reduce the other side to a simplistic notion that is very easy to dislike, with the motivation being not wanting to have to think.

I am still not comfortable with Phillips' story. He is now offering to meet with the teens at their school to help further the discussion. We still have the issue outstanding of whether he may have oversold his service during "Vietnam times".

 

What really gets me is that, before the full video got out, he made it seem like he was in fear for his safety by these kids. Now, he is saying that the Black mob and the teens were in such a "vile" argument that he felt that he had to intervene. This guy keeps putting himself out there as the center of the story (victim, then hero), when he could be just agitating things.

 

I am sure that the media could easily verify his service, but will that ever happen?
