As it is, the consumers get fukked either way. These tariffs were poorly thought through. We can't just snap our fingers and make doll factories and auto plans magically appear. This would take years, and we might not even have the labor to fill the jobs. Tariffs only deepened the Great Depression in the 1930s. Tariffs with Nazi Germany only worsened their economy. Time and time again, tariffs have failed, and they're typically associated with leaders who think they're putting their country first.
