I've found that doing community theater is inspiring. To be part of a group of people - most of them far more experienced and skilled than I am - and to create something that entertains audiences is a great feeling, particularly when they're standing, cheering and loudly applauding at the end. When the cast is on, it's like being in a band that locks into a really great groove. The audience feeds on that. The performers feed on that, and then it takes on a life of its own. When the cast KNOWS it has something good (and a show full of surprises) just before the curtain goes up, there is a palpable energy and excitement that's a real high and hard to describe. I didn't know I was capable of doing theater until I got dragged into a small part two years ago. Then I did a bigger part and an even bigger part before doing a two-actor show with a 97-page script. Now, memorizing lines and going out on stage isn't intimidating at all.

Watching that video, if this thread wasn’t about ICE then I’m sure we’d see comments from the racists here about “the usual suspects” being the ones doing the looting, but of course now it’s convenient to tie it to protests against immigration

These are career criminals, opportunists that probably have no poltical affiliation, aren't registered to vote and nothing to do with the protests or the cause. They just want to steal free stuff. We saw this in 2020 in L.A. and we are seeing it again.
