posty 2,702 Posted April 2, 2013 http://www.deadline.com/2013/04/hbos-game-of-thrones-renewed-for-fourth-season/ On the heels of its big Season 3 premiere on Sunday, HBO‘s hit fantasy series Game Of Thrones has been renewed for a fourth season. Based on the bestselling fantasy book series by George R.R. OldMaid 2,130 Posted April 2, 2013 HBO has missed some opportunites in retelling this story. I have already complained about not going the rout with the bastard bolton and Reek, but i was a little bummed the other night that they revealed barristan selmy so early. I thought that was a pretty cool part that happened towards the end of the book, and also brought up some other plot points as barristan set some other things to rights *i know... no spoilers* That and they sort of spelled out the whole Davos red woman thing... and they spelled out littlefinger/sansa meh oh well... that said, the scene with the dragons fishing was bad ass, and tyrion's dialogue with tywin was spot on and dark... i'm excited I'm still baffled that they left out the prophecies from the House of the Undying, last season. The Moz 69 Posted April 2, 2013 Didn't think I would be able to say this but GOT season opener > TWD season finale --- it wasn't even remotely close either
rallo 136 Posted April 2, 2013 I'm still baffled that they left out the prophecies from the House of the Undying, last season. Agreed, at first i was apprehensive of all of the prophecies whether it be the red wedding from the house of the undying, or Cersei's future from maggy the maegi... or even the three leeches that Stannis burned from the red priestess... yet they have all seemed to come true... CantTouchThis 23 Posted April 3, 2013 Pretty sure I am going to read the books either after this season or after the entire series. It is incredibly hard to follow, unless you have read the books I imagine. And names are like impossible to remember for non-book readers. I know faces and their story and stance, but other than the main character rarely remember names.

IAMWood 6 Posted April 8, 2013 Good stuff with Thoros and the Brotherhood. Also liked the Queen of Thorns scene. She reminded me of Katherine Hepburn in The Lion in the Winter which Hepburn was awesome in, she must have tried to emulate that as the character described in the books also made me think of Hepburn's role as Eleanor of Acquitaine. So excellent job casting and acting again.

parrot 789 Posted April 8, 2013 Happy to finally see Ramsay Snow!!!!! Now I wonder if we'll ever see Vargo Hoat? I doubt we will see Vargo at this point, as he is basically just another peripheral character that would mostly only serve to confuse the viewing audience. And if they were going to introduce him I would think it would have been with Jaime and Brienne's capture. Myabe not though. Someone still has to do the deed. Not sure who that will be if it's not Vargo.

parrot 789 Posted April 8, 2013 I thought I read somewhere that they held casting auditions for him. Hope so... I'm really looking forward to hearing Kingthlayer! You may be right. I hadn't heard they cast the part. Interesting move with giving Catelyn some conflicted feelings over Jon. I don't think I like it. I prefer to just completely hate her. I thought the introduction of the Reeds was very well done.

rallo 136 Posted April 8, 2013 Ok, I found him. Looks like they've changed his name to Locke. You hate Cat? How can you hate Catelyn... ? i hated Cat as well... i dreaded every Catelyn chapter... Always a dull rainy day... 'my father is dying' 'what of my girls?' WhiteWonder 2,744 Posted April 9, 2013 ive probablt said it before but the single most frustrating thing with this show is the gross amount of storylines. I don't have trouble following them but it pisses me off to no end when 2 or 3 of the plots I enjoy are not covered at all in whole episodes. Such as no Khaleesi this week. And 2 minutes of Jon Snow. also Catelyn is horribly annoying.

OldMaid 2,130 Posted April 9, 2013 Man, you guys are brutal... Out of all the chapters, the only ones that made me weary to read we're the Bran ones. For some reason, I just didn't care what was going on in his storyline.
MedStudent 56 Posted April 11, 2013 Two weekends ago I watched an episode of game of thrones because Comcast was showing them free on demand. I couldn't stop watching the episodes. I watched the first season over two days. This past weekend I subscribed to hbo and got caught up. Amazing series. I don't know how I am going to deal with just watching one episode a week. It was pretty awesome to watch the series in one continuous couch potato marathon. Love the imp, little girl and John snow. I'm hoping snow loses his virginity to that ginger chick. IGotWorms 4,058 Posted April 11, 2013 Spoiler for Season Three Episode Two: I'm curious what Margaerys is up to with Joffrey, after her and mom pumped Sansa for the skinny. I feel like maybe she's going to get him to trust her so she can then betray him in some power play. Or maybe she really does intend to indulge the little psychopath. But she's all into the poor and Joffrey doesn't give a fock, so that's why I think she's got some scheme in play.

rallo 136 Posted April 11, 2013 Finally finished the 4th book today, and i'll have to say it was pretty good, but i left a little disappointed. I read through Martin's explanation of why he wrote it that way. 'concentrate on only a few characters as to not insult the reader with cliff hangers'... what was left was a few characters stories, and a boatload of cliffhangers... The one that really pissed me off was Briene's... she is just starting to get hanged in a tree... the rope is tightening, she is lifted off of the ground, and the she screams one word... BOOM end of chapter, end of her storyline... what is that but some huge focking cliffhanger. I count myself lucky that i caught on to this series later so i didn't have to wait forever for the 5th focking book to come out... That and the impending Cersei/Margarey cliffhanger trial... don't get me wrong, good book, but he is full of shat if he claims he was trying to avoid cliffhangers... EDIT and don't get me wrong... i WANT the ugly wench to die... but she won't

Danny is a BMF with dragons Stannis is a BMF with fire hoar Bran is a BMF with Dire Wolf dreams Beyond The Wall is all BMFs. ... and you know who ain't a BMF? Lannisters. Joffrey. Cercsei. Tywin. The Moz 69 Posted April 11, 2013 I'm pretty sure the 3rd book is EVERYONE'S favorite. Makes sense as to why they are doing it in 2 parts in order to get everything in rather than pissing off the book fans by changing a bunch of sh!t to make it shorter. That said it would be nice if we didn't have to wait a focking year for part
parrot 789 Posted April 11, 2013 I'm pretty sure the 3rd book is EVERYONE'S favorite. I would call it a toss-us up for me between 1 and 3. 3 has tons of action and plot twists, but 1 introduces all the characters and the world, and a ton happens in that book as well. And Ned's death was one of the most moments I've ever had reading a book.

parrot 789 Posted April 11, 2013 I wonder if they get into depth about Jaime and his back story at all in the show? As far as Kingslaying, or in regard to what happened the Starks, or what?
The Moz 69 Posted April 11, 2013 As far as Kingslaying, or in regard to what happened the Starks, or what? Basically yes. IMO Jaime is one of the best characters in the show and the books. - along with Tyrion and Dany
IGotWorms 4,058 Posted April 11, 2013 They've been doing more developing of Jaime's character since he was captured and especially since the mountain lady began transporting him to exchange hostages. I have a feeling it will continue. The thing that's really mission is an explanation for why he can't stop focking his sister. I.assume there must be some reason, it's not like he couldn't pull other hot tail.
rallo 136 Posted April 11, 2013 Basically yes. IMO Jaime is one of the best characters in the show and the books. - along with Tyrion and Dany This... in the books the author always claims that jaime is no match for tyrion mentally, yet he is still pretty focking sharp. He also has a knack for being bluntly hilarious instead of the clever/passive aggressive quips you see with the 'smarter' characters. Jaime is also the character who undergoes the most character transformation thus far IMO, He has to reinvent himself and his phantom hand. It is also interesting to see his inner struggle... both yearning to be, and rejecting his former self... there is a part in the 3rd book where he is going through the large written book of all past king's guardsmen and he comes across his page. He sees all his triumphs and failures written into a concise exerpt and notices that selmy left the majority of the page blank. He realizes then there is much to be written still, and it can be whatever he chooses... i know kind gay, but he's one of my favorite characters
TD Ryan2 316 Posted April 12, 2013 Is Tyrion a BMF TD? Or does being a Lannister rule him out? Being short (Tyrion) or rich (Tywin) does not equal supernatural power (BMFs). IMO of course.
