MDC 7,480 Posted October 3, 2012 The first debate is by far my favorite part of election season - after months of reading about the two candidates you finally get to see them on stage together and to some extent addressing each other in conversation. I don't think it has much effect on the outcome and it doesn't mean much policy-wise but it's always fun. Really looking forward to opening a bottle of wine and watching this one with my wife. IGotWorms 4,058 Posted October 3, 2012 I'm curious to see if either side will get really pinned down on policy and have to actually explain their plan with any degree of detail. My guess is probably not, but I hope I'm wrong on that.

donhaas 18 Posted October 3, 2012 The GOP has set the bar so low for Romney that if he can chuckle awkwardly for an hour and a half, mention "America" a few times, and not completely bash and denigrate almost 50 percent of the United States.... I think FOXNews and the FFToday Republican Housewives Club will declare a major victory I predict no real stances on anything from Romney...per usual... maybe some vague mutterings on RomneyCare, err. ObamaCare I predict he will continue to give us no real reasons why we should turn the plane back over to the dipsh!t pilots who left it spiraling downward at rapid speed four years ago... BunnysBastatrds 2,450 Posted October 3, 2012 I read somewhere that they expect fifty million people will be watching tonight. Can't find the link. If that is true, I think this first debate will be a game changer for either if they do well. If you get a chance, listen to one of the debates on the radio and don't watch it on TV. You get a much better perspective of the debates listening to their words without all the other distractions.

It might mean that a lot of undecideds want to see this Romney guy. Or not. Anyway, I'm going to miss some or maybe all of it for a meeting. No worries, I'm sure I'll get an accurate account of it here.

IGotWorms 4,058 Posted October 3, 2012 Your Hero has been in office for 4 years and still hasn't presented a detailed plan to turn his putrid economy around. Yes, I would like to see a more detailed jobs plan from Obama. Thank you for pointing that out. I'd also like to see a more detailed tax plan from Romney, and more details about what he would "replace" Obamacare with, and more details about what he would do about Iran. That's why in my post I acknowledged that both sides have been woefully thin on the details.

MDC 7,480 Posted October 3, 2012 I look forward to Mitt explaining why a guy who thinks of half of America as entitled, irresponsible victims should be President. I perdict he walks that statement back or otherwise says he mispoke or it was taken out of context, thereby solidifying voters' impressions of Mitt as a flip flopping d1ck with no core.
