tubby_mcgee 701 Posted October 4, 2012 The first results of the debate are trickling in. So far, it appears those that consider themselves democratic voters, think Obama is winning, and those that consider themselves Republican, think Romney is winning. mobb_deep 920 Posted October 4, 2012 I think Mitt is doing pretty good, if you take everything he says at face value.

MDC 7,480 Posted October 4, 2012 Did anyone really think Drobeski or RP or DAnk Nuggs or Go Colts would say, "Wow, Obama is impressing me here"? LOL It's probably because I'm a republican, but this was a real bad debate for Obummer. He's wonky and meandering. He should've taken the gloves off at some point. He'll win the election but lost this debate IMO.

Mungwater 597 Posted October 4, 2012 Why won't the president actually look at Romney when he's talking? I hate Romney but he is coming across as much more polished and ready for the job. Obama will still win but damn dude

NewbieJr 541 Posted October 4, 2012 Are you watching? If so, what do you think? I think Romney sounds like RP. Talking about deficit and the past four years but not saying a single thing about what his plan is. He also comes across as very unlikable. Very. Smug with a dismissive smirk. I think he's probably losing more voters than he's gfaining.
mobb_deep 920 Posted October 4, 2012 Obama not doing so well if you take what he says at face value. That's strange, since Obama and Romney are basically saying the exact same thing. Romney is pushing hard to the center, for the votes of independents like myself.

gocolts 300 Posted October 4, 2012 Yes true. Also someone should've told Obummer that agreeing with your opponent always benefits the challenger. He's had an awful night. Obama's body language was horrible. Nodding, looking down, not looking Mitt in the eye, looking away, etc...
The Moz 69 Posted October 4, 2012 DAMN I didn't think Romney had a chance -- he is more than holding his own --- I can't believe Romney is exactly at least IMO winning this debate when I thought Obama would kill him.
5-Points 3,566 Posted October 4, 2012 Romney has done a good job of not letting Obama define him. Every time Obama brings something factually untrue (unheard of in politics), Romney sets the record straight. Good job on his part.

Obama will still win but damn dude I agree. I think Romney sounds more confident with the verbiage that is coming out of his mouth. Whether it's correct or not....fock...who would know. Every stat has a counter stat that refutes it. I also agree Romney will lose the election. Popular: 50/48 Electoral: 320/

MDC 7,480 Posted October 4, 2012 Obama's body language was horrible. Nodding, looking down, not looking Mitt in the eye, looking away, etc... I agree totally but his unwillingness to take the gloves off at all was a worse problem. In a long discussion of entitlements, how do you not bring up the 47% comments or allude to Romney's shifting positions? He really blew an opportunity tonight. Very very poor evening for Obummer. Obama was in "prevent".

Recliner Pilot 61 Posted October 4, 2012 That was a bloodbath for Obama. Nobody can dispute that.....with the possible exception of Ducky. But then, Romney could have spent the entire debate presenting a powerpoint with specifics to solve every problem facing the country while Obama humped his leg and Ducky would declare Obama the winner.
