Bills04 46 Posted September 17, 2014 Ya know... With everything going on in the NFL right now, I really wouldn't be surprised if some NFL players that are having .. "turbulence" in their relationships, aren't having girlfriends black-mail them with this type of thing. There are no details yet, from what I've seen. If there is physical evidence, or other witnesses, then fine. But, I remember one of Ben Watson's "women on the side" making false accusations about him, because he wouldn't buy her a Lexus, or such nonsense.

Gratefulegg1973 253 Posted September 17, 2014 This is going to be great. Steelers play the Seahawks in the Superbowl? Have someone from Pittsburgh's PR team pay off some broad to 'float' a story to authorities about some kind of domestic violence about Wilson or Lynch. Before the cops even finish their report the players will be deactivated and the PC liberals will be marching on Seattle like Sherman marched on Atlanta. RepoPatrol 14 Posted September 18, 2014 Apparently the arrests occurred in July. Means the Cards have been sitting on this while the whole Rice and AP thing was going down. Shame, shame. Some facts do need to be faced when looking at this behavior. By calling these players abusers you are actually calling their parents abusers as well. It must be difficult for some of these guys to come to terms with and thus their inability to "get it". Now Brandon Marshall is having his closet exposed. NFL is being accussed of handling his past offenses inadequately. The thing is that he finally got help, changed his ways and now is helping others defeat this ingrained behavior. That is the model the NFL need to adopt. Treatment not suspension.

NFL is being accussed of handling his past offenses inadequately. The thing is that he finally got help, changed his ways and now is helping others defeat this ingrained behavior. That is the model the NFL need to adopt. Treatment not suspension. No it doesn't: TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer has been deactivated from all team activities following his arrest Wednesday on allegations of aggravated assault. The arrests stem from two incidents involving a 27-year-old female and an 18-month-old child at Dwyer's home in southeast Phoenix at July 21 at 8 a.m. and July 22 at 4 p.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department. Dwyer, 25, was booked into Maricopa County Jail on Wednesday on one count of aggravated assault causing a fracture, one count of aggravated assault involving a minor, two counts of criminal damage, one count of preventing the use of a phone in an emergency, and assault. Dwyer admitted to the incidents during interviews with detectives but denied physically assaulting the female and child. According to police, a search warrant was also being executed at his home. According to a release, the Cardinals weren't made aware of the allegations against Dwyer until Wednesday but are fully cooperating. "Given the serious nature of the allegations we have taken the immediate step to deactivate Jonathan from all team activities," according to the release. "We will continue to closely monitor this as it develops and evaluate additional information as it becomes available." An NFL spokesperson said the arrest of Dwyer will be reviewed under the league's personal conduct policy. According to Phoenix police, the female and child left Arizona shortly after the July incidents but a report wasn't filed with the Phoenix Police Department until last Thursday. After conducting interviews with witnesses and obtaining out-of-state medical records, investigators developed probable cause to arrested Dwyer on Wednesday in Tempe, Arizona. Dwyer was signed on March 12 to a one-year contract as a free agent. He was scheduled to be the Cardinals' highest-paid running back at $795,000 this season, according to ESPN Stats & Information. Through two games, Dwyer was the team's second-leading rusher with 16 carries for 51 yards and a touchdown. Also, I'm in no way justifying his behavior if he assaulted them, but that second bolded paragraph is a little troublesome. This could be the beginning of an onslaught of upset women bringing charges against players. It wasn't bad enough two months ago to file charges, but now it is? TheUsualSuspect 207 Posted September 18, 2014 It wasn't bad enough two months ago to file charges, but now it is? EXACTLY. Which is why I call BS. "Probable Cause" means if any pro athlete is accused of anything and everything, they are going to be charged because these situations are more sensitive than ever. Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted September 18, 2014 I read it another way; the woman came forward at this time because it can't be simply swept under the carpet. These police depts. are under more scrutiny because of their inaction on this subject. Why Ray Rice isn't doing time for assault is mind boggling. Either they're lazy, inept or getting paid.

Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted September 18, 2014 What can they do if his wife does not pursue it? Nothing. Actually that's outdated thinking. A lot of states have changed their procedures if physical evidence is present and supports that an assault occurred they will file charges. Ray Rice had Jenay marry him so she wouldn't have to testify against him. The prosecutors blew off or ignored the video evidence. TMZ releasing that tape had them backtracking on why they didn't charge him with felony assault.

I read something last week. It is STANDARD PRACTICE in New Jersey to offer counseling and possible adjudication if there are no repeat incidences within the next year. So, Rice did NOT receive any special treatment.

Let's say you get it admitted as evidence, which is no guarantee. She made an aggressive move and he hit her. Seems like self defense. At least that is Rice will contend and there is no other evidence. It's a loser.

Bills04 46 Posted September 18, 2014 Per SI.com: New details have emerged in the domestic violence allegations against Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer. ESPN reports that Dwyer "headbutted his wife and broke her nose after she refused his sexual advances, and punched her in the face the next day." BC 15 in Arizona reports that the alleged incidents involving Dwyer, his wife, and their 18-month-old son occurred on July 21 at 8 a.m. and July 22 at 4 p.m. at Dwyer's house. From ESPN: In the first encounter, police say Dwyer attempted to kiss and undress his wife, but she refused. Someone who heard the argument reported the assault to police, who showed up at the apartment but did not make an arrest. Dwyer hid in a bathroom and the wife denied he was in the home because the running back threatened to kill himself in front of her and their child if she told police about the assault, police said. The next day, Dwyer punched his wife with a closed fist on the left side of her face, according to police. He also punched walls and threw a shoe at his son, listed as either 17 or 18 months old, who was not injured. Arizona police said that after the second incident, the two victims left the state. Dwyer's wife reportedly called the police on Sept. 11 to tell them "Dwyer had sent her a photo of a knife and threatened to harm himself if she contacted authorities about the incidents." I stand corrected. There was evidence / justification for the arrest. // Really? Head butting your wife, because she "isn't in the mood???" Just bust out Rosey Palm.
