jerryskids 6,797 Posted October 14, 2014 The latest Pew Research Center News IQ quiz measures the public’s awareness of key facts in the news: from questions about conflicts around the world to the current minimum wage and the chair of the Federal Reserve. ... Differences in news knowledge across partisan groups are relatively modest, though Republicans tend to do somewhat better than Democrats overall. Republicans are 16 points more likely than Democrats to answer the Common Core question correctly (58% vs. 42%). And 57% of Republicans identify the oil industry as a primary driver of growth in North Dakota, compared with 42% of Democrats. On other issues, such as the unemployment rate, there are hardly any differences in news knowledge between Republicans and Democrats. Relatively modest? Republicans scored better on 10 of the 12 questions, most by a significant margin, and had an average overall difference of 7%. Democrats: the party of wannabee intellectuals. The quiz is included in the link; I got a 10 out of 12. http://www.people-press.org/2014/10/02/from-isis-to-unemployment-what-do-americans-know/

But who doesn't know that oil is the main driver in ND? People living under rocks? ETA: Just read the article, I lose, I thought it was internet based quiz. jerryskids 6,797 Posted October 14, 2014 This board must be an outlier then. Yes, everywhere else Republicans are statistically more informed, but here it is different. In other news, on internet chat sites all over the country, people are having the exact same conversation, because it is beyond comprehension to Democrats that their party is primarily made up of uninformed moochers. naomi 356 Posted October 14, 2014 My goal was to beat Jerry. I felt pretty good about that after the first few questions, but alas, also 10 out of 12. The only question women do better than men with is the min. wage one. The two questions ages 18-29 do better with than everyone else... min. wage and federal poverty line.
